A Note From the Principal
As we do approach the warmer months of the year, I can't help but think about where we were at a year ago, about this time! A year ago we were just coming in to the pandemic and just starting to hear about this "thing" called COVID-19. Little did we know our normal would soon change and we would miss out on all the things that the end of the year brings! Just this morning I had a teacher in the office that was struck by the notion that last year at this time, the unit she is just getting ready to teach was the last unit she was able to teach to her students in 2019-2020. I think we can count our blessings to know we WILL have the pleasure of finishing the school year, teaching all of our units, and saying proper good-byes.
There is so much too look forward to in the coming months and I am confident, even grateful, to know that with safety measures in place for masks and sanitization we can experience all the joy of a full school year with our students and families!
Be sure to check out the upcoming calendar of events to stay up-to-date on all that is happening! You can expect more information on some events as the date draws near!
Until then-- stay safe, be warm, wash those hands, and mask up!
Yours in Education--
Mrs. Holtz
Elementary Spring Concert Info
Elementary Families,
SAVE THE DATE! Our Spring Concert is right around the corner! April 8th will feature all of our students in a 2 EVENT PROGRAM. This year we are trying something new to help with scheduling and to stay COVID friendly. Students in K-2 will perform from 5:15 - 5:45 pm followed by a 30 minute intermission to allow families to come and go. Students in grades 3-5 and 5th grade band will perform from 6:15 - 6:45 pm. Both performances will take place at the high school in Correctionville.
We know this year has been nothing slight of challenging so we are eager to showcase all the amazing, hard work that has been happening in music IN PERSON with you!
Additionally, masks will be required to be worn for those in attendance and we ask that you provide social distancing between families when choosing your seating.
We hope to see you there! If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Holtz or Mrs. Olson.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Olson
Annual Kids Heart Challenge!
We will be launching our 2021 Kids Heart Challenge on March 5th. Due to some restrictions this year, there will not be an assembly for the students to attend. Instead, the students will watch the video with their class in PE. Your child will bring home their packets between March 3rd-March 5th.
This is an enjoyable time for the students! Please take the time to sit down with your child(ren) to discuss the benefits of staying healthy.
To register your child, you will find the instructions on the Parent Letter. Or, you can help your student sign up at www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge or download the free "Kids Heart Challenge" app and register. Your student will choose their heart health challenge and earn a FREE power band for registering online! AND you can help us win the classroom challenge! The class with the most students registered online will win!
