Climate/Culture Survey
We are currently revising our Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) and seeking feedback through surveys to gauge how students/parents/community members feel about our culture and climate.
Please complete the appropriate survey below before October 28. Responses are anonymous and your feedback is appreciated!
Students will have an opportunity to complete the student survey this Monday.
Shake, Rattle, & Roll
On Thursday, October 20, schools are encouraged to participate in the annual Central U.S. ShakeOut earthquake drill. Hundreds of thousands of Missouri students participate each year. Participants will practice the “Drop, Cover, Hold On” technique to protect themselves in the event of an earthquake. Remember you should:
- DROP to your hands and knees
- COVER your head and neck with your hands and arms under a table or desk if you can
- HOLD ON until the shaking stops
Experts say Drop, Cover, Hold On is the best protection from falling debris, which is the most likely cause of injury during an earthquake in developed nations with modern building standards.
To learn more and to register for the event, please visit Shakeout.org/centralus.
** We will practice our first semester Earthquake Drill on 10/20 at 10:20. Staff will be prompted to cover the procedural information with students via an intercom announcement at that time. **

Take a minute to let me know all about it by filling out THIS FORM.
Students, Parents, and Staff can give a shout out to any Slater Schools employee! We'll make sure they receive a copy of it and will look for ways to share them with you throughout the year as well.
Let's get to bragging about all the good people around here!
Old Business
Keep It Clean
I have no desire to relive the microlockdown of March 2021 (no candy, no sodas, etc. in the building), but I'll go there if students don't manage their trash.

Due to liability concerns from MUSIC, our insurance company, pets are not permitted on school property. This excludes service animals and classroom/curricular animals, pre approved by a Building Principal.
High Demand Occupations Outlook
Do you know what you want to do after you graduate High School? If you're not sure, check out the most recent list of high demand occupations:
The following occupations were identified from using the Long Term Occupational Projections 2020‐2030 for Missouri. The data was extracted from the MERIC website. The Long‐term Projections (Statewide‐MO All Occupations) information was used to determine the high‐demand occupations list.
Occupations that are highlighted are new to the high‐demand occupations list in FY 2024. All other occupations will remain on the FY 2024 high‐demand occupations list.
