Finish Strong & Celebrate the Season
As we approach the end of the semester, let’s focus on finishing strong while enjoying the holiday season with our students. This time of year is filled with joy and excitement, but it can also bring stress and anxiety for both students and staff. Let’s continue to support one another by fostering a positive, calming environment. Celebrate the progress we’ve made, connect with your students, and don’t forget to take care of yourself as well.

Character Dare
January Character Dares
Below is the list of the CharacterDares connected to each session in the middle school’s 25-session scope and sequence. The goal is to focus on the same schoo- wide Character Dare each week upon returning from winter break. Reinforce in classes, hallways, Spartan Summit, as often as possible. We will communicate weekly with parents about the Character Dare via Talking Points.
Session 5: The Connector Sometime this week, Introduce 1 person you know to another person they don’t know.
Help those around you build some connections. Take it to the next level by finding a time for the 3 of you to hang out.
Session 6: Deep Digging Have a conversation with a staff member and learn something new about them.
Example: "What's something you're really passionate about outside of school?”
Session 7: Super Support Get a friend or a group of friends together to attend a school event. Congratulate or cheer on the students at your school who are competing or participating.
If you can't attend an event, show support by telling others you heard about it and give them encouragement and congratulations.
Session 8: Tech Timeout Takeover Pick a specific day(s) this week to focus on being completely present with those around you.
Do your best to only use your phone and technology for tasks like coordinating or schoolwork (research, turning in assignments, etc.).
