From Mrs. Franklin...
Another week down!
In reading and writing this week, we filled our brains with knowledge about rabbits and then used what we learned to draft sentences about rabbits. I have been pushing our students to do less tracing and more of the letter formation on their own. I have also been giving them more time to come up with the language rather than prompting them more.
Mrs. Shelton, who is a substitute in our classroom frequently, has rabbits at home. She was happy to come up with her daughter and allow the kids to pet the Rabbit, Oreo. I was excited to "quiz" the kids and see what they remembered from our reading and discussions.
In math this week, not only did we count...but we also did some basic addition by coloring objects and counting objects in a group and then counting the ALL the objects in the group.
We met in our school families this week and discussed "honesty". The kids did a scavenger hunt around the classroom. Our assembly was extra fun, we saw Dr. T get some pies thrown in his face. And our own, Zane, was recognized for showing the Big 3 in the bathroom!
Ms. Jacobs, Mr. Green, Mrs. Snavely and Mrs. Gardner ended the week by stuffing eggs with snacks and candy and hiding them for the kids who weren't in their regular classrooms. I would say they had a fun ending to the week!
CHEERS - to a great week and some great weather
