CARES Newsletter
October 23, 2020
Dear Families,
Ohio has moved to level red and I’m sure many of you are wondering what this means for CARES. Mentor’s Superintendent, Mr. Porter and the Mentor Board of Education continue to use the level system as a guide as well as work closely with the CDC but will be making decisions based specifically on how our district is doing. Right now, our district is doing well and I don't anticipate us changing our plan. However, it is in your best interest to be prepared to go remote at any moment. The CARES staff has prepared two weeks worth of hands on activities should they be needed. Staff will also be sending devices home daily with students who need them.
With everyone working together, I am optimistic that we will be able to keep our students in school by following a few simple protocols. I understand that it is sometimes difficult to know when your child is sick so please err on the side of caution by keeping your child home if they don’t seem themselves. Take your child’s temperature every morning before they leave for school and continue to encourage your child to wear a mask and teach them proper hygiene skills. All of your efforts will help us all stay safe and in school.
Have a nice weekend,
Christy
