USD116 BOE Update: April 5, 2022

The Assistant Supt. of Student Learning shared an amendment to the previous agreement between the Cunningham Township Supervisor's Office and USD #116. This would expand services and offer more support to our families/students experiencing homelessness.

The amendment added to Intergovernmental Agreement would:

• Provides a CTSO Housing & Homeless Case Manager to:

○ Assist families who are homeless or experiencing housing insecurity

○ Works in the district three-quarters days and flexing time as needed for school events

○ Would begin May 1st and end June 30, 2023; primarily follows CTSO calendar

• This agreement expires June 30, 2023

9.1 Resolution and Agreement Authorizing a One-year Extension to the current Intergovernmental Agreement Between Urbana Park District and Urbana School District 116 for the Operation of the Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center APPROVED

Included in the one-year extension:

• The Park District and School District agree that the Aquatic Center will be closed to the Public and Park District Programs from May 30, 2022 - September 5 2022. School District swim team will resume on August 8, 2022. The Park District and School District also agree that Aquatic Center will not be open on Sunday’s except for private rentals during the length of the agreement.
• During the one (1) year renewal term, it is the intention and goal of the Park District and the School District to further evaluate the current Aquatic Center IGA, and develop a planning process to discuss arrangements and options that would ensure that the Aquatic Center remains operational and sustainable for the foreseeable future. The Park District and the School District pledge to enter into good faith discussions with each other in order to advance that mutual and shared goal.

9.6 Approval of Equity Audit Contract APPROVED

The Equity Task Force requests Board approval to enter into a contract with Systemic

Educational Equity, LLC, an external consultant/equity audit firm.

The BOE will vote on a final map at the April 19 meeting.
