Message from Dr. Taylor
Mustang families,
In honor of Black History Month, I'd love to share with you the exciting progress and impact we have seen through our partnership with the Obama Foundation's My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Alliance, particularly through the involvement of one of its members, Trey Baker, MHS class of 2021.
Through mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement, Mundelein MBK has become a beacon of hope, instilling confidence in our young men of color, fostering a sense of belonging, and nurturing a spirit of brotherhood. These values are essential for the personal growth and well-being of our students.
Witnessing the transformative effects of Mundelein MBK firsthand, we had the privilege of showcasing the achievements and experiences of our young Mundelein MBK students at a fall Board of Education meeting attended by our esteemed Board members and Superintendent. Students not only highlighted the significance of Mundelein MBK but also underscored the importance of amplifying youth voices and perspectives in decision-making processes.
It is worthy of noting that the acclaim garnered by our Mundelein MBK chapter has attracted interest from high school leadership teams across Lake, DuPage, and Kane counties. These institutions are keen to emulate our model, recognizing the transformative potential of nurturing the holistic development of young men of color and fostering inclusive, supportive school environments. We are excited that Mundelein MBK has not only enriched the lives of our students but also sparked a broader movement towards equity and empowerment within the educational landscape of our region.
Go Mustangs and Go Mundelein MBK!

Coaches Corner - Boys Basketball
Submitted by Coach Badgley
The boys basketball team is continuing to compete and represent our school community in a tough, always competing way. We have come up just short recently, but the fight in these boys is evident. On Wednesday, Jan. 31st, lost to top 10 ranked Warren by 8. With 1:33 seconds left in the game, we were down 5 and missed a shot to cut Warren's lead to 2 points. At this point we needed to foul and they made their free throws. Super effort by our guys to battle this entire game.
Senior Night this Friday vs. Libertyville. Come out and help support the efforts of our seniors. This group has seen a crazy career, starting with the 5 week season as freshmen during the Covid response. They have come a long way and deserve this recognition
Coaches Corner - Girls Bowling

The Mundelein Mustangs finished undefeated and took 1st in the Conference season. At the Conference Tournament, the Varsity and JV squads took 1st place over their competition by commanding leads. Individual place winners: Samantha Sciortino (Varsity, 2nd place), Reena Photopoulos (Varsity, 4th place), Melissa Orozco (Varsity, 5th place), Caitlin Sciortino (Varsity, 6th place), Brianna Orlowski Merner (Varsity, 8th place), Cecilia Osorio Rodriguez (JV, 1st place), Anna Kuznetsova (JV, 2nd place), Charlottle Niziolek (JV, 3rd place), Naomi Routledge (JV, 8th place). We couldn't be more proud of the team as they have taken one record down after another during the regular season. Next up - Regionals!
