We now have a lost and found in one place. We will store lost items until winter break and then we will donate. The students now know where

then we will donate. The students have been informed of the new location.

Our classes finished up their STEM-a-Thon activities last week and they all really enjoyed them.

Thanks to all the families that have gathered pledges. We will continue to accept pledges through November 18.

It was great to visit 1st grade and see the students counting collections and working on place value of tens and ones.

These 4th graders are doing a great job of working with fractions. They are using manipulatives to prove that they are equivalent fractions. They also used shading to show fractions and equivalent fractions.

Thanks for being patient at pickup. Please be certain you go to the spot you are told. Also, please be certain to pull all the way over so that the back of your car is not hanging out in the next lane. Treat it like airport pickup. Thanks so much.

Last year’s FFO direct donations funded shade structures for our VV bobcats and staff around the pick up loop & they are finally ready to install!!

Look for the new shade structures as you drop off and pick up - they started install today and will finish on Friday.

As a way to help build family connections Ventana Vista is creating a school directory! This directory will be available next week.

During registration, parents select whether or not they would like to have their contact information disclosed in a school directory. For those who chose to NOT have their contact information released, it will not be included.

Family Teacher Teams (FTT) came about as a way to help with family engagement and boost student achievement during the pandemic, and is based on WestEd's Academic Parent Teacher Teams program. All grade levels have kicked off their FTT by early October (teachers sent out details via Remind). Below is a recap of the focus areas and activities by grade level.

Kindergarten – Letter Names & Sounds: Alphabet Flashcard Games and Alphabet BINGO

1st Grade – Literacy: Family Read Aloud Time

2nd Grade – Spelling: 150 Spelling Words Practice

3rd Grade – Math Fact Fluency: Fun Math Games with a Deck of Cards

4th Grade – Reading Fluency: Weekly Reading Passages & Comprehension Questions

5th Grade – Math Fluency: Multiplication War & Multiplication Heads Up

If your student was already meeting the grade level goal for FTT, please connect with your teacher to adjust your child’s goal/activity (if you weren’t already provided with this).

We will also be talking about how to get involved with our December Holiday Drive as we partner again this year with More Than a Bed.

Get out those running shoes and join your kiddos on the field! Mileage Club is happening again this Thursday. Every student is encouraged to participate, and would love to have their parents join as well! The kids run/walk laps while earning tokens for each mile completed. While there are two shifts for volunteers below are the actual times that the student run:

Kindergarten: 11:00-11:35

4th,5th and Clark and Alexander’s Classes 12:15-12:35

1st, 2nd and Tobin and Lopez’s Classes 12:35-12:55

Volunteers will assist with set up, take down, scanning, handing out tokens, handing out name tags, and cheerleading. Parents and younger siblings are welcome to run too if that's something you enjoy.

STEMathon last week was a huge success and the students had a blast!! Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped run the STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Math) activity stations!
