Installation Dates & Times
Please email Brother President Cody Cockroft (pr@mwsa108.com) and Brother Vice-President David Berndt (vp@mwsa108.com) with the date and time of your Lodge's Officer Installation so that we may put together a comprehensive list and keep the District informed so that everyone can attend each other's Installations. Thank you!
President's Message
Honorable Brethren of MWSA 108:
Greetings. The month of April was busy and positive for our District. Following is a list of District 108 brags: Successful Past Master’s Event hosted by Sugar Land Lodge on April 8, tremendous turn-out for Brookshire Lodge’s Scholarship Fish Fry on April 13, Sugar Land’s Fellowcraft Degree on April 17, MWSA 108 Business Meeting and Education Program at Pleasant Hill on April 23 (special thanks to Pleasant Hill’s Leadership for hosting the event), Entered Apprentice Education Programs at Katy and Morton Lodges. I am excited to report that Morton Lodge has nearly completed its kitchen remodel project. The project kicked off week ending April 19 and is anticipated to conclude the first week of May. The aesthetics and functionality of the new kitchen will be inspiring. Also, many thanks to Brother Sammy Larbi for assembling the Widow’s Information Packages. A plan is in the works to deliver the booklets and Blue Slippers to the nine (9) fine ladies who attended the Special Ladies Event in March.
I believe it is proper to recognize Katy Lodge and its leadership in the planning, attendance, and conduct at the Masonic burial services of one of their members. Brother Sharbrough performed the service exceptionally and I was astonished by the number of brothers who showed for the ceremony (I believe there were 17). Katy Lodge left a positive impression on the family and the attendees of the service. In speaking of Katy Lodge, their Fish Fry is scheduled for May 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. I encourage our District Brethren to stand beside Katy Lodge on this laudable undertaking.
There are only two months left in this Masonic year. I trust that appropriate planning is in order and the goals for your respective lodges is under serious consideration. I am considering hosting an opportunity to meet with the elected 2019 – 2020 Worshipful Masters in the July/August timeframe as a token of celebration and collaboration. This will be a discussion point in the near future. SPECIAL REQUEST: please send to me and Brother Vice President Berndt the date and time of your Lodge’s installation. We will coordinate this with Brother Sharbrough and post on the District Calendar.
In closing, if you have not perused the MWSA 108 website, I encourage you to do so: https://www.mwsa108.com. Brother Sharbrough has performed exceptionally in the interface and functionality of the information contained therein. The website is a great platform to share information with the District about happenings in your lodge. Simply email the information to Brother Sharbrough, or me, and we will get it uploaded. Also, if you are desirous of being included in the District 108 Degree Team for the EA, FC, MM, or Masonic Burial Service, please communicate to me your interest, e.g., position(s) you are proficient in, phone number and email. I will work with the District Leadership and we will update the reference document and include it in the resource tab of the website. This will be an important tool for any lodge who may come up a little short in assembling a degree team (especially on short notice). For those lodges pursuing the Vanguard Award: Suspense Date 1 = August 3 (form due to me); Suspense Date 2 = August 31 (form due to Grand Lodge). Let us exceed our own expectations!
Let us close this Masonic year in spectacular form. Consider our Guiding Principles!

Lodge Google Calendars
Please work to keep your Lodge's Google Calendar that is linked to the District #108 Google Calendar up-to-date. With everyone's calendar up-to-date, Brothers from other Lodges will be able to plan to attend more events and meetings around our District. This will take some work on the part of whoever controls the individual Lodge's Google Calendar, but it will be well worth the time investment.
Thank you!
