Principal's Message
Hello Families,
'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the school, not a student was quiet, excitement rules! What a fun time to be in school...of course that can be a matter of perspective :)
Remember when reading out loud to your child was a staple of the nightly routine? Now maybe they are a little older and can read independently. This holiday break I encourage you to take the time to read aloud to your son or daughter, no matter the age.
While reading, you can help your child’s understanding with questions that build critical thinking skills and increased comprehension. For example, you might ask:
- What do you think might happen next? Why?
- Why do you think _______? (a character did something, or an event happened)
- Does this remind you of anything? (an event in your child’s life, another book, character, etc)
Any discussion about what your child is reading is valuable. The most important thing, though, is your child is learning to see reading as an enjoyable lifelong activity. Thank you for helping to model that at home.
I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!
Paws Up,
Mr. Schreiber

Wisconsin Winter Weather Has Arrived!
The snow and cold is upon us! Recess is an important part of the day so here are a few cold weather reminders:
- If the temperature or wind chill is below zero, students will remain inside for recess.
- Please make sure your child(ren) have snow pants, boots, gloves and a hat every day. Please don't assume we will be indoors on snowy, cold days. If a student does not have snow pants or boots, they will remain on the blacktop during recess. Also, make sure all snow clothes are labeled with your child's name.
