From the Principal's Desk
October 24, 2022
Greetings FWAFA Family,
Hope your week is off to a great start!
I'd like to give a BIG FWAFA Shout-out to this year's school Spelling Bee winners - Emma McNatt (middle school) and Khara Lay (elementary school). Congratulations!
I would also like to give everyone an update on the Intruder Detection audit. I am happy to announce that FWAFA passed with a 100%. The audit included a random outside door check by the auditor, a door check of all of the exterior doors with the auditor accompanied by me, and a review of our Weekly Exterior Door Check spreadsheet. We scored 100% on all three elements of the audit. I want to thank all of our students, teachers, and staff for remaining vigilant about keeping our exterior doors closed at all times. Thank you!
On another safety note, we are implementing a new "See Something, Say Something" reporting app called Anonymous Alerts. The mobile apps and web-based reporting system provides secure 1-way or 2-way encrypted messages, increasing the flow of important information to FWAFA admin.
Message topics for submission may include bullying, cyber-bullying, family difficulties, self-harm, drug/alcohol abuse, student depression, or strange/abnormal student behavior. All communication on the app is anonymous and is sent directly to Ms. Wallace, our Assistant Principal, and to me.
We see the message immediately as it is sent to us both via email and text message. To download the app, go to your App store or to the Play store and search for Anonymous Alerts. The activation code is fwafinearts.
Lastly, please watch your speed in and around campus on the neighborhood streets. Let's all stay safe!
Lots of fun things happening at our school in the upcoming weeks! Check it out below.
Have a magnificently Magical Week!
Creatively yours,
Dr. Jackson

As the sun rises on the plains of Oklahoma in 1906, we bask in the warm glow of a budding romance between the charismatic Curly and the lovely Laurey. Living with her Aunt Eller, Laurey catches the eye of farmhand Jud, who will compete with Curly for her hand and her heart. Meanwhile, Ado Annie, an exuberant romantic, falls for both the dashing young cowboy, Will Parker and Ali Hakim, the traveling salesman. The two young women must choose which path to take as tensions rise at the Box Social dance.
Alive with a magnificent score, diverse styles of dance, and a cast of spirited characters, Oklahoma! is a tale for all to see. A classic for years to come!

We will have two large rooms where vendors can sell their products. These rooms are located between our auditorium and student performer pick up which will ensure that our guests visit the Market.
Vendors can reserve a space (or two) to sell their products. Spaces are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. All items must be family and student-friendly. There is a fee to reserve the space so vendors can keep all profits made from their sales that evening (although donations to our department based on your success would be greatly appreciated).
All vendor fees will go directly to student expenses for our trip to National High School Dance Festival in Pittsburgh in February! Thank you for your support!

We need your help. We have spent 4 months trying to find bus drivers to drive for our events, field trips, and performances. We have tried Facebook ads, Indeed, Linked-In, specific education websites, and nothing has materialized. We've had several interviews and just haven't found the right people.
We need your help. Please, if you or someone you know would be willing to drive the busses for our amazing students, we would love to talk to you.
If we can't find someone(s), then we might be in a position to charge for field trips and performances to rent charter busses.
If you know someone, please forward them our HR Specialist, Mica Wolf's email at mica.wolf@artsacademics.org.
The position is as-needed because we don't have a normal bus route. The pay is competitive. If you're willing to be trained, we might be able to help pay for your training.
The details are all below. Please, help us make this happen!
