Curriculum Night was Thursday, September 8th at Stella May Swartz. Mrs. Ross highlighted on different aspects of the curriculum for our grade levels and our classroom procedures. There was an introduction of our staff as well as a brief overview of Swartz expectations. Parents also had the opportunity to meet and visit with our staff specials teachers. MAPs and Aims Web testing will be starting next week Monday, September 12th for Salt Creek and Swartz. Please make sure your child is getting a good nights sleep and eating a good breakfast so that they are well rested and ready to test.

If your child is home because they tested positive from COVID19, we will contact you for remote instruction for the time that they are home. Students will be able to sign on remotely with their teacher for classes, such as ELA, math, science and social studies. If your child is unwell, please do not have them remote in to instruction. They need to rest and relax so they can return to in-person learning. If your child is not coming to school for non-COVID19 related reasons, they will not be able to remote in for instruction. Non-COVID19 related reasons include, but are not limited to, stomachache, tired, mild headache, runny nose, etc.

Reminder: If your child has been fully vaccinated, please email a photo of your child's vaccination card to the school nurse at verickson@saltcreek48.org or upload it directly to Skyward. This information will be kept in their confidential health file. Thank you for your continued help in preventing the spread of the virus.

Note: If your child is sick, please keep them home from school and contact your schools office to report the absence.

Salt Creek and Swartz had their Bus Evacuation Drills today. The students boarded the buses as the drivers talked to them about Safety Measures, Assigned Buses, Student Bus Expectations, Cell Phones, Discipline and Bus Evacuation. They all did a great job of listening to the drivers.

Parents please take a moment to sign on to your Skyward account to check your child's food balance account. It is helpful to check this weekly or every other week depending on how often your child eats breakfast or hot lunch at school. This will make you aware of where the balance is at so it can be manageable throughout the school year. No one wants to see a surprise balance on their child's account!

We have our first half-day this Tuesday, September 13th.

Swartz students dismiss at 10:40.

Salt Creek Primary students dismiss at 10:50.

Preschool students do not attend that on half-days.

If your child's transportation plans change that day, please let the offices know by 1:30pm.

The LEAP program will be available for families that need it! Please see the flyer for details. The LEAP program is housed at Salt Creek Primary.

If you pick up your child at Salt Creek or Swartz, please put the car pick up sign in your car window everyday!

Salt Creek District 48 is always looking for wonderful substitute educators for our teaching positions, teaching assistants, and lunchroom supervisors.
