Dee Wolters named U.S. Southern Region 4-H Salute to Excellence Winner!
Dee Wolters, volunteer from Maury County has been named the 2023 4-H Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Winner for the U.S. Southern Region by National 4-H Council. Dee received the Tennessee state award recently at State 4-H Congress, and we have just received notice of her achievement at the Region level as well. 4-H Shooting Sports Jamborees in Full Swing
National 4-H Volunteer Conference - Sept 28 - Oct 1, 2023
Tennessee, in 2021 and 2022, boasted the largest delegation, and this year we are looking to grow that number! The Conference is open to anyone working with 4-H youth across the U.S. and is hosted by volunteers from the southern region. The 2023 conference theme is “Find Your Spark!” and will happen at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia. See the website at http://www.4hvcoss.com/. A call for workshop proposals is currently in action, and registration for the conference will happen starting on June 1.
4-H Electric Camp: Connecting YOUth to the Future!
Happening June 26-29 at UT Knoxville, 4-H Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity. Youth will explore the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety, and other basic sciences in fun-filled, “hands-on” learning activities. Registrations will be taken through your county 4-H Office. The registration deadline is Friday, May 12th, at 6:00 PM EST. County 4-H Offices may have due dates sooner than May 12th.
Two Volunteer Recognition Programs Featured at 4-H Roundup
In keeping with tradition, two Volunteer Award Programs will take place at 4-H Roundup this year: (1) The Charline Hamilton Powell Award Program, and (2) The W.M. and Ruth Hale Master 4-H Family Recognition Program. These two recognition programs are described on the Tennessee 4-H Volunteer website. Contact your County Extension Office for information on the nomination process. Applications are due June 1.
The Centennial Tennessee 4-H Roundup
The Centennial Tennessee 4-H Roundup is scheduled for July 17-21, 2023, in Knoxville, TN! Make sure that your youth have an opportunity to participate in this historic event. A special event for 4-H Alumni will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 6:00pm. More information to come.
