Remember, the kids have a short week next week - there's no therapy on Friday, February 18th AND no therapy on Monday, February 21st.

We'll be using those two days to complete Professional Crisis Management training for staff who need it for the first time. The initial class is a two day class, unlike the recertification class we just had, which takes only one day.

We'll also be completing another deep cleaning day at the center on Friday, so the kids will return to a nice clean place to play.

The Autism Alliance of Michigan's Navigating Autism Today conference will be on Friday, March 18th. It's from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The conference is free for parents.

A letter was sent to families via Remind today regarding updates to our mask guidelines for staff. In short, with the changing recommendations from MDHHS, the recent decline of COVID-19 cases in our area, and with regard for changing recommendations within our local schools, Strive leadership have decided to discontinue required mask wearing for adults within our buildings.

Children's mask wearing has been parent choice for some time now, and will continue to be parent's choice. Parents may choose to have their child wear a mask at all times, wear a mask only when in close proximity to other students, or not wear a mask at all. Please communicate directly with your BCBA regarding your choice.

Mask wearing will be optional for adults within our buildings, which includes parents attending parent training or observations. Parents may not request that adults wear masks around their child, nor may they request specific therapists, as has always been our policy.

This change will go into effect on Tuesday, 2/22/22. Please direct any questions to your BCBA or to Amy Hund.
