Knife Crime Workshop
Our PCSO, Steven Coles has visited us again this week to continue his amazing work with students around knife crime as part of Operation Sceptre.
Frantic Drama Workshop
Year 10 and 11 Drama students have taken part in workshops where they had the opportunity work with professionals in devising and developing physical theatre pieces including lifts.
MacMillan Cake Sale 2019
We will be holding our annual cake sale in support of MacMillan on Friday 27th September. If you would like to donate cakes/muffins or cookies for the sale please bring these into school on Thursday 26th September.
Stars of the Week:
Students:
- Miss Blencowe has nominated Year 9 students Luke and Brandon for excellent effort in their first practical lesson, and both also produced amazing homework – they were given half an aubergine to take home and create something with, and they were both creative and impressed Miss Blencowe with what they produced.
- Mr Cox has nominated his Year 8 Scientists for exceptional effort so far this term in lessons.
- Mr Rogers has nominated Year 9 students, Darcey, Erin and Lexi for supporting the PE department during the Year 6 Open Event. Also nominated are the Year 8 Netball team for their fantastic performance on Wednesday evening in their fixtures against Brooke Weston Academy and Prince William.
- Mrs Brown has nominated Year 13 student Ryan for for excellent work on his NEA in English Language and Literature A Level and her Year 11 English Language students for a great start to the year.
- Mr Harley has nominated Year 7 student Jake for great literacy in DT and Year 8 students for making some excellent fish cakes in Food Technology and cleaning down their section to a high standard.
- Mrs Young would like to say thank you to all the students who offered their support at the recent Year 6 open evening, you were all fantastic ambassadors for the school.
- Mrs Arnold has nominated the CCF students who have taken the new cadets under their wing and supported them through their first few weeks as new cadets.
- Mrs Rice has nominated Year 8 students Matthew and Julia for wonderful creative writing in English and Year 10 student Abbie for her excellent knowledge of Romeo and Juliet.
Celebration of Student Work
Year 8 Drama Workshop
Year 8 students took part in a Drama workshop with students from Northampton University looking at future careers and options.
Food Technology
Students have been cooking up a storm creating ratatouille, pasta dishes and tuna fishcakes.
Year 8 Netball
Our Year 8 netball team had a narrow defeat at the hands of Prince William followed by a victory over Kingswood. Some fantastic netball played by all three teams
Reminders:
- Our second Open Evening for Year 6 students will be held on Tuesday 24th September with sessions at 5.15pm and 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Please arrive promptly at 5.15pm or 7.00pm for the presentations.
- Auditions for this years Drama production of Legally Blonde on Thursday 26th September at 4.05pm in the Drama Studio.
