Unfortunately, I am addressing you after our first day of virtual instruction. As we announced yesterday, we will be moving to a full virtual schedule for the next two weeks due to increasing cases of Covid within Toms River and the surrounding area. I am hopeful that the spread can be contained so that we can return to our hybrid schedule on Monday, December 14th.

It is our goal to return as soon as possible to a normal full school day. In order for this to be a reality, we all need to work together. As I have repeated stated, please be sure to wear masks and practice social distancing at all times. Research shows that this is the best way to stop the spread of Covid. Our contact tracing has shown that the positive cases our students and staff have experienced over the last two weeks did not originate inside the school thus far. Please be vigilant at all times so that we can get back to the lessons, games, concerts, proms, and graduation ceremonies that make our school great!

In an attempt to maximize our instructional time over the next two weeks, we will be adjusting our schedule beginning Monday. Our hybrid day was 7:15 to 11:15 with afternoon time set aside for individual intervention and reinforcement until 1:50pm. This was designed to close the gaps for hybrid and virtual students alike.

During our full virtual instruction, we will be moving to our "Normal" school schedule, (7:15am - 1:50pm)as we have followed prior to last March 13th. This will allow for seven 43 periods of instruction. Teachers will be varying their approaches to include a series of large and small group activities throughout each period to include instruction as well as reinforcement. The purpose of many of these activities will be to limit screen time for students throughout the period.
