The SAM Explorer
December 22nd, 2023
Message from Dawn & Cam
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been grateful to spend so much time together celebrating the holiday season. Our Wonder & Light concerts led by Mrs. Moran were absolutely fabulous! It was wonderful seeing so many family members join us in celebrating our students and their talent. Also, thank you to all the families who supported our local community by donating items to our Food Bank and clothing drives!
As the holiday season is a time for rest and connection, we encourage our students to enjoy this break by spending quality time with family and friends. Please remember that school will be closed from December 25, 2023 to January 7, 2024. Classes will resume on January 8, 2024. We look forward to seeing our students return, refreshed and ready for the exciting opportunities that await in the new year.
Wishing you all a safe, happy, and restful holiday season.
Dawn, Cam & the SAM Staff

COMMUNITY NEWS
Internet Safety Parent Session
The internet plays an integral role in everyoneโs lives, and when it comes to youth, their social lives exist largely in cyberspace. Over the course of the past four years and through the global pandemic, Alberta has experienced a significant increase in cases of child exploitation on the internet. With more users online than ever before, and new apps and software being developed every day, it can be difficult for parents and teachers to keep on top of the latest trending platform. Advancements in technology are exciting and helpful, but it opens an ever-growing gap between the levels of digital literacy between youths and busy adults.
The Northern Albert Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit will provide a presentation that focuses on education, prevention and putting parents and teachers in a position to protect their children from online sexual exploitation.
When: Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 6:30 pm
Where: Paul Kane High School
This event is free to attend but is limited to 150 attendees so registration is required.
Soul Fire Community Program
