Digital Resources Update
TrustedEd Apps Using the 1EdTech Dashboard
HCPS continues to build its portfolio of trusted digital resources. In order to streamline things for teachers, HCPS utilized the resources provided by 1EdTech's TrustedEd Apps Dashboard to create a digital resource dashboard in Canvas.
Digital Resources are added to the dashboard as they are approved as either essential or supplemental. Approval requires the instructional application of digital resources to be evaluated from the content supervisor as well the resources going through a review that considers student data privacy, accessibility, technology security, and integration into our digital ecosystem (student access and course rostering).
Essential:
- Essential digital tools are the web-based tools that HCPS has under contract for staff and student use.
- Contracts with vendor partners require them to protect and secure our students' data.
Supplemental:
- Supplemental digital tools are those free tools that HCPS authorizes to be used as supplementary (non-essential) enrichments to students’ educational experience.
- Supplemental tools are authorized if they comply with federal and state standards for protecting students' data privacy and security.
- Teachers must consult the parent permission form to ensure parent permission prior to student use.
Follow the directions below to access the list of essential and supplemental resources for the county.
A submission window to recommend additional resources to be added to the supplemental list will open in January. Staff should only use reviewed resources on the approved list.
