Uniforms
Riverhead Charter School places a high value on school climate & student success.
Uniforms are mandatory to promote the concepts of community, teamwork, responsibility, pride, respect, and safety.
There is equality in the learning environment for all students.
Students are rewarded with occasional opportunities to not wear their uniform or "No Uniform Today" (NUT card) based on academic & social excellence.
Resources You Need
Class Dojo
Our school uses Class Dojo as our main source of communication.
Dojo has the ability to translate conversations.
Please turn on notifications as I will use this to alert you of any changes in our day, as well as share information & upcoming events.
Pickup Patrol (PUP)
Please use PickUp Patrol to report ALL absences and changes to your student’s dismissal plans.
PickUp Patrol saves us a great deal of time here in the office and reduces interruptions in our classrooms—while also providing you with a convenient way to make changes to your student’s dismissal plans. Most importantly, it helps us ensure that all our students are safely dismissed to their correct after-school destinations.
Google Classroom
We use Google Classroom to assign work, or share material with the students. It is used for classwork, research, and assessments.
Our Class Code is: iffk7bx
iReady
i-Ready is an online program for reading and/or mathematics that will help your student’s teacher(s) determine your student’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning.
