Winter Band Concert

We look forward to seeing everyone at our annual Winter Band Concert, this year being held at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Our own theater on LASA campus is not large enough for our band program and families.

A few students will help us move needed equipment from LASA to the AISD PAC after school. Then, starting at 5:30pm, the various groups will do brief dress rehearsals on stage.

Doors will open at 6:45pm

Concert will be begin at 7:15pm

Estimated end of the concert is 8:45pm

Students are generally encouraged to provide their own transportation, especially Wind Ensemble since they will be the first group to do their dress rehearsal.

However, 2 buses will pick up from outside the band hall at approximately 5:30pm to drop-off at the PAC around 6:00pm.

Basic timeline of departures from LASA:

• 4:30pm - Wind Ensemble and some Percussion
• 5:00pm - All others NOT riding the buses
• 5:30pm - 2 buses depart from LASA (approximate time, depends on buses)

ALL STUDENTS SHOULD BE PICKED UP FROM THE PAC AT THE END OF THE NIGHT!

4:00pm - dinner - pizza in band hall

• ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO EAT WITH THE BAND AT THIS TIME

4:30pm - Wind Ensemble and some Percussion depart from LASA in personal vehicles

• unload in loading dock behind main stage, then go park in parking garage

5:00-5:30pm - Wind Ensemble set stage

5:00pm - all other students not riding the bus, depart for the AISD PAC

5:30pm - 2 buses departing from LASA for anyone needing transportation to AISD PAC

5:30pm - Wind Ensemble dress rehearsal

6:00pm - buses arrive

• head immediately to black box theater to get instruments out,

• then immediately onto stage for warm-up/rehearsal

6:00pm - Combined Symphonic & Concert Band dress rehearsal

6:15pm - Stage Band/Jazz Band set-up/dress rehearsal

6:45pm - doors open

7:15pm - welcome and concert begins

• Stage Band

• Jazz Band

• Percussion Ensembles

• Combined Symphonic and Concert Band

• Wind Ensemble

8:45pm* - Estimated end of concert

Students should bring their change of clothes to LASA when they come to school that day. That way they can change on campus before going to the AISD PAC.

All students are expected to be in concert attire when their dress rehearsal begins.

CONCERT ATTIRE (any of the following):

• Black buttoned shirt or blouse
• Black slacks (no jeans)
• Black pants suit
• Black dresses or skirts
• Tie optional, but encouraged
• Black shoes
• Black socks or hose
