Hatherly Happenings

Although the storm did not allow us to celebrate Halloween on Friday, we will still be celebrating at the Hatherly School. Please let your student know that we have just moved the fun to Monday, November 1. All students are welcome to come dressed in costumes for the day. It is important that no blood or weapons are a part of any costume.

If you were planning to volunteer in a classroom celebration, please email the teacher to find out the plan for the particular class.

This week students enjoyed listening to Nurse Jessica read aloud the book, You Matter. The story shows the world through different lenses. Students were able to hear about how everyone is connected and everyone matters.

Some amazing fifth graders stood up in front of their peers on Friday to share with them why they deserved a vote. Not only were the words they delivered impressive, so was the audience that attentively listened carefully.

Our new officers of the Hatherly Student Council are:

Treasurer - Reid Seward

Next the advisors, Kate Pescatore and Lisa Sturges, will be working on class representatives to join these officers. It is going to be an exciting year!

The concert originally scheduled for October 28 has been rescheduled to November 4.

With the colder weather starting to be more consistent there are more sweatshirts and coats being brought into school. Please be sure you are labeling your child's clothing as the lost and found is already filling up!

Thank you to all of our families for a very successful parents night out last week! We are so lucky to have such generous families who support our students and teachers here at the Hatherly School. For those of you who may have missed the event, check out the awesome "giving tree".

All parents at the Hatherly School are invited to drop in to our next parent group meeting on November 19th. Colleen Franke, school psychologist, and Caitlin Burns, educator facilitate this group. The topics vary each month but are target common focus areas for all parents. Colleen and Caitlin will send out more details about our next meeting over the coming weeks.
