SCHOOL SUPPLIES
The district will be purchasing all basic school supplies for students again this year! Your child will still need a back pack, but all other items will be provided.
SCHOOL SAFETY
The district has invested much time and money in the last few years to make our campuses safer including access control on all doors, the Centegix Alert system, and improvements for internal communication. We are also very lucky to have a full time SRO for every school.
This year, we will continue to evaluate our school safety needs, tighten lock down procedures, and make sure students and faculty know what to do in all situations.
New Traffic Control: To help control the number of people coming onto campus, LCES and LCMS will be closing and locking all upper gates between the hours of 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM. During this time, the only way to access campus will be through the main (lower) gate and into the bottom parking lot. No one can line up for parent pickup until 2:00 PM. Outside pedestrian traffic will not be allowed through campus while school is in session.
6TH GRADE PARENT REPRESENTATIVE
Attention 6th grade parents: please nominate yourself or a fellow parent to serve on the School Governance Team. The Governance Team meets once a month on Tuesdays at 3:15 to review school initiatives and provide input to the administration. Please send nominations to nathan.gerrells@lumpkinschools.com.

BACKPACKS FROM FAMILY CONNECTION

If you would like to support our efforts, donations of backpacks are welcome! You can purchase one off of our amazon wishlist (https://a.co/0W1xHCa) or can drop off backpacks for students at the Lumpkin County Board of Education, Dahlonega Cutting Cave, or the Student Outreach Center.
PARENT DROP OFF
Parent drop off begins at 7:20 in the morning, please do not plan on dropping off your child until that time. From 7:20-7:40, all parent drop offs must occur in the upper parking lot behind the Auxillary Gym. Turn in at the rock and take the second left into that parking lot. Staff will be on duty at 7:20 to begin drop-off. Traffic continues around the building into the lower parking lot. If you have an LCES student as well, you may stay in the same line and drop them off under the awning between campuses.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD INTO THE LOWER PARKING LOT TO DROP OFF.
PARENT PICK UP
Parent pickup begins as soon as busses leave our campus (around 2:50). To line up for parent pickup, enter the upper parking lot at the Rock and take the 1st left into the large lot. The line forms around the building down the access road into the main parking lot.
Staff are monitoring the parking lot and allowing students to enter cars in an orderly fashion. Please follow the directions of the staff on duty. Students must be paying attention and follow the car until the line stops. Students must stay on the sidewalk until all cars have stopped and we blow a whistle indicating it safe to load.
Please be patient the first few days as everyone learns the process. DO NOT pull into the parking lot and expect your child to walk to your car.
Please follow an appropriate chain of command when contacting the school. For classroom concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher first.
