A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CAUDILL
Last Friday when students had a half day, teachers engaged in some professional development. We discussed a wide range of topics including, our upcoming bond improvements, March is Reading Month, data review, restorative practices and so much more. The highlight of our afternoon was spent engaging in team building activity that Ms. Jen Isenberg, PE teacher does with our Bobcats. It was a great way to bond with our colleagues and get some energy out! We loved seeing how Ms.Isenberg teaches our students the value to working as a team. Being able to listen, work together, and figure out a solution through trial and error are such valuable skills. While academics are important, these "soft skills" are are just as necessary for success going forward both as a student, but as an adult.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

BIG THANK YOU!
Thanks to all our Amerman Bobcat Families for donating to our recent Food Drive for Northville Civic Concern. This project was sponsored by our 3rd Grade Bobcat Boost Leaders. We were able to donate almost 800 items of food to help make a difference to families in our Northville Community
CANDY DRIVE!
Because of all the inclement weather days in January, we had to shift our next donation drive to the end of this month. Our 5th Grade Lighthouse Leaders are sponsoring a Candy Drive.
The goal is to collect 100 POUNDS of candy to send around the world to service men and women and veterans.
There is a collection box in the office. Please do not send in any chocolate or expired items.

LEADER IN ME FEBRUARY FOCUS - HABIT 5
Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
What this means: Listen before you talk. In order to communicate effectively, we must first understand each other.
“I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings.”
“I try to see things from their viewpoints.”
“I listen to others without interrupting.”
“I am confident in voicing my ideas.”
“I look people in the eyes when talking.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Listen.
2. Put yourself in the other person’s place.
3. Notice a person’s body language, tone, and reflection in their voice.
