As you all know, today marks my last day as Principal of the Freeland Learning Center. For you and your students, this is not a "goodbye," but rather a "see you later." As I shared with the teachers this morning, these past three years have been absolutely incredible. I have sincerely loved getting to know you and your child(ren) and certainly hope that you have had a memorable Learning Center experience thus far. I appreciate all that you do as parents and the role you play in the partnership with our schools. Your involvement and support make a world of difference! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's education.
Moving forward, as you may have read in an email yesterday, the district has hired Mrs. Izabella Lopez as the next Learning Center Principal. Mrs. Lopez was a first grade teacher at the Learning Center for 10 years, the last of which also happened to be my first year in the building. For the last year-and-a-half, Mrs. Lopez has served as the Principal of Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary, and we are very excited to welcome her back!
Mrs. Lopez's first day at the Learning Center will be on Monday, January 20th, and Mrs. Jacque Chislea will fill in as Interim Principal upon our return from the holiday break. For the past six weeks, Mrs. Chislea has been filling in at the Elementary School and has done an outstanding job. Aside from your student(s) not seeing me every day, they can expect everything to run as it has since the beginning of the school year. Our goal is to make this mid-year transition as seamless as possible and I have the utmost confidence that we will have no problem accomplishing that.
