Attention Parents: Lunch Visit Protocol
If you would like to eat lunch with your student, please review the following procedures:
1. Visitors should wait for their student near the designated table located on the southwest side of the cafeteria.
2. If the person visiting a student during lunch is not a parent/guardian, the identity of that person must be established, and he or she must be identified as either a visitor (with prior written, confirmed, parent/guardian permission) or emergency contact person on a student’s registration card/eSchool account.
4. Once the student arrives, visitors may sit with them at the designated visitor table(s) located on the southwest corner of the cafeteria or courtyard.
5. Only parents and their students will be allowed to sit at the visitor table.
Due to the Texas Nutrition Policy, “Students or parents should only bring enough food for themselves. No large quantities to feed other students are allowed.” The Texas Nutrition Policy does not allow sharing food. Students should only bring enough food or snacks for themselves.
Canvas
Canvas is our new learning management system (LMS), and it is taking the place of Learning Hub, Google Classroom, and class websites. Canvas provides an online platform in which students can interact with course material and activities. As parents, you can be an observer in the Canvas courses that your students are enrolled in this year. An observer can see due dates, announcements, and other course content but cannot participate in the course. The instructions provided will help you get started by creating a Canvas account and pairing it with your students.
Students may have already had an opportunity to log into Canvas during their first week of school. Students that need help getting logged in can use the resources included here. Students must log in and get a pairing code for their parents to sign up as observers.
We hope that this new tool increases efficiency with you partnering with us in your child’s educational journey.
