A short message from Mr. Schulte
Chromebooks: Please make sure your students bring their Chromebooks charged and ready to go every day ready for school. I suggest students plug-in and charge their Chromebook every night before they go to bed, and leave it close to their backpack to make sure they bring it with them in the morning.
Parent Teacher Conferences were held on Wednesday, Oct. 25th and Thursday, Oct. 26th. We appreciated seeing all the parents who attended conferences. If you were unable to attend, we will mail home grade cards with MAP/EOC results. Please contact your child's teacher any time you have questions or concerns. I encourage you to check grades in the SIS parent portal frequently. Our goal is to work together so that all students can be successful!

Attendance
Good attendance is imperative to success in school. Good attendance impacts a student’s grades, overall educational experience, and sets positive habits that will help students to become successful in life.
Students who are absent more than ten (10) days during a semester in any class are at risk of not earning credit in that class. Exceptions may be made in the event of extenuating circumstances that can be verified such as chronic health issues or medical appointments. If credit is denied due to attendance, the next step in the appeal process is the superintendent and then the Board of Education.

Updates from Academic Services
I had the privilege of meeting with each senior in October. We were able to insure students are on track to graduate, highlight scholarship opportunities, and discuss future plans. It has been wonderful getting to know those of them who I do not know and learning about their exciting plans for the future! ~Mrs. Mell
FAFSA Update-
The “new” 2024–25 FAFSA® is expected to open in December. This new form is predicted to be an easier, more streamlined process. At this point in order to be ready when it opens, students and parents can create their FSA ID. Use this guide created by uAspire when you are ready to get started- FSA ID How To. A great website to help you stay on top of all things FAFSA® is - https://journeytocollege.mo.gov/fafsa-info/.
Some scholarships require information from the current FAFSA® in order to apply. You will also have to apply for the new version that opens in December for the 2024-2025 academic year. Please reach out if I can help you with this.
Scholarships-
Seniors, be sure to check out the Scholarship section on the website. It’s not too early to begin applying for money to assist with your post graduation goals!

2nd Semester-
Students should begin looking at their class schedules in the Tyler SIS portal for 2nd semester. If students are thinking about any schedule changes, see Mrs. Macrander in Academic Services to schedule an appointment. Make sure to have a couple of choices in mind since some electives are at or near capacity.
