Weekly Newsletter 15.12.23
This week...
As I'm sure you're aware, it's been Nativity Week in school! What a joyous time we've had!
I'd like to say a big thank you to all of our friends and families for taking time out of your day/evening to come and celebrate our children and share the Christmas story with us.
Thank you also to our amazing staff, who worked tirelessly to put these performances together. Your dedication to our children makes a huge difference and we are grateful.
The biggest thank you, though, has to go to our FABULOUS children! I know you'll agree that each and every one of them truly shone! Our children are our strongest example of how we...
Live, love and learn with the Lord.
Mrs Ronicle
We have heard you!
We appreciate feedback from families and we have heard you!
- Firstly, you have overwhelmingly been in support of holding a Carols around the Tree gathering next Friday (22nd Dec) at 2pm, and having an early school finish of 2:30pm. We are happy to accommodate this!
- Secondly, we know that a number of you have asked if we can operate a school Facebook page, alongside our Twitter account, and we are now in a position to launch this! Follow us here:
Photo consent
We do have a number of children who don't have photo consent. This is completely your choice, which we respect. If you would like to give consent for external use of photos (for the newsletter, website, Facebook, Twitter etc) please update this on Arbor or contact our office, who would be happy to change that for you!
Mini Vinnies
We are very proud of our Mini Vinnies team, who shared Christmas joy at our local care home this week. They sung carols and festive songs and brought a smile to many faces!
Sports
Lat month, Lottie in Y6 qualified for the semi final of the Small Schools Cross Country Festival. This Thursday, she ran, representing St Joseph's beautifully, and achieved an amazing 4th place!
Playground equipment
We've had so much fun introducing playground equipment to encourage more structured games at breaktimes. Our very creative children designed obstacle courses; held hula hoop parties; took part in skipping contests; and choreographed cheerleading routines!
Christmas Pantry
A huge thank you to Catholic Care Leeds, who held a free Community Christmas Pantry event in school this week!
Foodbank
Wetherby and District Foodbank is here for anyone who is in need or hardship. They do not mean test or judge. All information shared is private and strictly confidential. If you need support over Christmas or into the New Year they ask you not to hesitate to get in touch. The foodbank will not only provide food and a listening ear but can also arrange free face to face local appointments with Moneybuddies who can help with debt advice and budgeting support.
Their number is 07840 455725 (01937 830524 for Tadcaster). Messages are checked everyday.
