Last Week of School and Promotion Information for 8th Graders ONLY
Dear 8th Grade Families,
With the big event fast approaching, please refer to the following instructions and information to ensure a stress free and enjoyable Toll Middle School Class of 2021 end of the year and promotion.
If you have 6th or 7th grader students at Toll, you will receive information about them separately.

June 8 - Picking Up and Dropping Off of Important Materials:
All 8th graders are responsible to drop off the following on JUNE 8 (See the attachment for the schedule, map, and a sample index card:
- Any novels that belong to the Toll library
- History textbook
- FLAG textbook
- Students who had Integrated Math this year, need to drop off their textbook
- The Verizon Chromebook they currently use including the charger, case, stylus pen, and any hotspot if applicable
- Musical Instrument (If applicable)
- Your Index Card
When you arrive on June 8th at your designated time, please:
1) Line up on the white dots drawn in front of the school and follow social distancing
guidelines.
2) Have your mask on the entire time.
3) Answer the COVID questionnaire provided by the school personnel.
4) Receive a a clearance sticker and go to your first station (See the attached map in this email).
5) Complete the route shown on the map (You will drop off your instructional materials and pick up everything you need for your promotion ceremony.)
6) If you have a musical instrument please bring it with you.
7) Our PTA and Foundation has a gift for you that you will pick up at the last station of your route.
June 9 - Promotion Day:
Please remember to arrive early as all participants will need to find parking in the street. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please be mindful of families behind you and make sure you are not blocking their view.
There will be professional photographers on campus to take students' pictures.
1) Arrive by 7:45 a.m.
2) Remember you can only enter if you have a ticket. Your name will be checked on our guest list and you will be guided inside the school.
3) Students with last names starting with A-J enter through the Concord gate and students with last names starting with K-Z enter through the Malt-shop gate. There will be signs and balloons to indicate where the gates are located. We will have a gate near the field on Concord opened for handicap access. If you need handicap parking please email Mrs. Babakhanian at ABabakhanian@gusd.net. Without a valid and updated handicap placard, no-one will be permitted to park in the designated spot.
4) All students MUST give their cellphones to their parent(s) or guardian(s) and have their hands completely free.
5) Be prepared to get your temperature checked and answer the COVID questionnaire in the back of your tickets.
6) Walk towards the field and find your first period teacher's name sign and join your teacher and other students in the same section.
7) Follow your teacher(s) instruction and remain courteous when students' names are being called. This is a solemn ceremony and all parents and/or guardians deserve to hear their students' names announced.
