

Setting Up Your Gradebook
First Time Setup

Maintain Teacher Gradebook Category Entry Point
Under the Teacher Menu, click on Maintain Teacher Gradebook Category. This is where you will setup the gradebook for your individual Course/Sections assigned to your role.
Tab Overview
The tabs of the Maintain Teacher Entry Point are listed below:
- Gradebook Course/Sections - Used to set the weights of your categories that will be used in each of your courses/sections and to set display options for your gradebook.
- Teacher Gradebook Assignment - Used to add information about the assignments that will be used in a selected course/section.
- Copy Assignments - For assignments that are used in more than one course/section, you can use the Copy Assignment Tab as a quick way to add assignments.
- Class Notes - Used to create notes for a selected course/section that can be viewed from the report card and progress reports tab of the Parent Self Serve and Student Self Serve applications.
- Copy Categories - For categories that are used in more than one course/section, you can use the Copy Categories tab to quickly copy configured Gradebook categories to one or more selected course sections.
Gradebook Options
To set up display options for a course/section, complete the following items:
- Fiscal Year - Will default to the current year
- Course/Section - Select an assigned course/section from the drop-down list
- Display Filter - Select a filter option for viewing assignment information for the selected course in your Gradebook in the Enter Classroom Grading entry point
❗❗ Please Note - If your Display Filter is NOT set, your gradebook will NOT HAVE FULL FUNCTIONALITY. This needs to be set for your gradebook to be able to Setup Assignments Correctly and Copy Assignments. ❗❗
Gradebook Categories
Gradebook Categories Column Headings
- Category Name: The name of the assignment category that you added is displayed.
- Weight: The weight is the multiplier to be used for the category in the grade calculation.
- GB Grading Cycle: Defaults grading cycle
- Calc Result Type: This is the calculation result type, which is either Alpha or Numeric.
- Alpha Grade Value Scale: If the calculation result type is Alpha, select the scale option to use (for example, Alpha or Pass).
- Alpha Grades Only: If only alphabetical grades will be used in this assignment category, select Y; if both alphabetical and numeric will be used, select N.
- Scale Value: Enter the Scale Value to be used as the default for this assignment category.
- # Count: Enter the default value for the number of times an assignment in this category will be counted.
- Drop Low: enter the number of assignments to be dropped.
- Drop High: enter the number of assignment to be dropped.
- Lowest Drop Value: Enter the lowest grade value that that can be dropped.
- Highest Drop Value: Enter the highest grade value that can be dropped.
- Color: Select a color from the drop down list to designate a color scheme for the category.
Category weights need to be set for ALL COURSES and MUST equal 100%.
Categories weights are assigned for the YEAR. Once a weight has been set, it cannot be changed.
