Administrative Updates
- Payroll and MTF's: Ashworth is doing payroll and handling the MTF's as well as field trip requests. PLEASE don't forget to enter leave in Oracle and sign in daily. Oracle is the county’s system utilized to request your leave. Aesop allows you to assign a substitute. Enter leave in Oracle first then check in with AESOP. Ensure that you have checked that box for "need a sub"
- Attendance: PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO TAKE ATTENDANCE DAILY. Make several copies
of your attendance list for your substitute folder. - Communicating with Families: How are you communicating with families? Are you utilizing Dojo
or Bloomz? Remind? How do families know what your scholars are learning in the classroom? Do students have an opportunity to develop materials that show what they are learning? - Behavior: We have 10 days until Winter Break! Please review the behavior expectations with all scholars today. Ensure that students are monitored throughout the day and keeping hands/feet to themselves. Reiterate the expectations each morning. You may even need to take time for "morning meetings" or afternoon "class meeting time"
- KUDOS to those staff members who consistently arrive on time and greet students at their doors upon their arrival. THANK YOU!!!! You are appreciated!
- KUDOS to those staff members who are consistently on duty in the p.m and are walking
students to their buses to supervise. You are appreciated!!!! THANK YOU! - High School Interns should not be left alone to supervise children. Please do not leave them in your classroom while you step out to the copy machine or restroom.
- Recess: Students MUST be monitored during Recess! I know this is a great time to speak with teammates, catch up on the day’s lesson and socialize; however, it is very important that you are monitoring students during this time in an effort to be proactive and prevent injuries/disagreements. If there is a teammate who does not wish to go outside allow that teammate to take those children who are having indoor recess vs. outdoor. Every student should be provided their 30 minute recess time.
- GRADING/REPORTING: Please ensure that you are adhering to the grading requirements per the administrative procedure. A minimum two grades per week should be entered in SchoolMax - you may enter more but 2 is the minimum. ENSURE THAT THERE IS A BALANCE BETWEEN ASSESSMENTS, PROJECTS, CLASSWORK AND HOMEWORK.
