Thank you to everyone who came out to National Night Out! There was so much food, fun, laughter, and learning. It was a great night and we appreciate our community support. Bertram truly is a special place. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Monay, October 9th but teachers will be on campus welcoming parents for conferences. This week is also Fire Prevention Week and National School Lunches Week.

Bertram's ADA for this past week was 93.53%

ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance and is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. "98 IS Great!", so 98% is our goal! We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able. Let's work toward 98%!

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will attend their designated YMCA Field Trip this week.

Beginning Sept. 26 through October 13, Burnet will take on Marble Falls in the 2nd Annual "Battle of the Cans" food drive! Both school districts will collect canned goods for two weeks. The winner will be announced during halftime at the October 13th football game. Please drop off your food donations at any campus or at Central Office located at 208 E. Brier.

LaCare high-need items: canned meat, rice, dry macaroni noodles (no mac & cheese, please), canned soup, and canned fruit
Helping Center high-need items: canned soup, ramen, canned green beans, canned corn, boxes of stuffing mix

Did you know that October is dyslexia awareness month? Parents and families are invited for an evening of learning about dyslexia on Monday, October 9th from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Parent Resource Center.

Wear red, the official color representing dyslexia awareness, to show your support. For more information about dyslexia, refer to the Dyslexia Webpage under Special Programs.

We welcome adult guests to join their students for lunch.We know that is a treat our students look forward to. Guests should bring their identification to the front office to sign in and then will be escorted to the cafeteria. It is our practice that the special adult and their student sit a designated table in the cafeteria and students do not bring friends from their class, or other classes, to join them.
