As we wrapped up the year, Thursday, June 2 was our 8th grade celebration day! Families could join our students for different events throughout the day: breakfast, a celebration assembly, lunch on the lawn, and capped it off with an evening grill-out. We will miss all of our students as they move on to high school next year. #AlwaysPartOfThePride

Our ELL students and members of ArtForce have been hard at work planning a mural for one of Goodrell's hallways for much of the year. This past month, it finally came time to see their vision come to life! Students put so much of themselves into this work of art. Everyone did an amazing job! A Friendly reminder from the Nurse:

All 7th graders must have a Tdap and Meningococcal vaccine before school starts in August. If the Nurse has not received documentation that your student has received these immunizations, you will continue to receive reminders throughout the summer. Any 7th grader who has not received their required immunizations will not be able to start school in the fall until they have received those immunizations.

It’s hard to believe the school year is complete, but we’re already looking ahead to August! With the start of school in fall there will also be new opportunities for students to get involved. In the coming weeks, please keep an eye on SchoolCNXT for information about getting registered for sports, opportunities for free sports physicals, and a survey for students to voice their opinion about which clubs and activities we will offer next school year.

Between sports, activities, and clubs, we offered nearly 50 opportunities for students to get involved this year. We are looking to strengthen some of those groups next year, while also adding more options in which students can participate. We had more than 70% of our students involved in a school-based activity this year, so thank you to the students and their families for making the choice to get involved, as well as our coaches, club sponsors, and community partners for providing space for students to gain a sense of belonging in our Goodrell community!
