Mini Mustang Matters

A Note From Mr. McCallum
Dear CES Families,
We hope you and your family are doing well. There's been a lot of great stuff happening throughout this month as you'll see below. There are a couple of things that we are asking for your help with and a lot of opportunities for making core memories. You'll notice we have a link to get information on any children that might have been impacted by the Flint Water Crisis. Whether this was in utero, or even for a short time, we want to make sure we get help for any students that may have been impacted. Far less concerning, but still important, you'll see the notice that we need to clear out the Lost and Found. Please stop by and collect anything that your children may have lost in December or January. You'll also see we are always encouraging consistent attendance at school and trying to provide opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Our Boosters have been planning and executing great events and experiences for our Mini Mustangs including a DQ Dine In, a Skate Night, and Popcorn Fridays (a building-wide favorite). Our WatchDOGS have been providing positive male role models. Staff have been working with students in the classrooms and through pull-out services like the intervention groups provided by our Title I team. Mrs. Jones is trying to give everyone reading fever, I barely dodged the swine flu, and the Liaisons Mrs. Ruiz and Ms. Lamb are trying to make sure the kids stay healthy and attend every school day! It is a dizzying dance of working hard and playing hard, and we appreciate you as partners throughout this short season while these kids are still Mini Mustangs!
