We are so excited to announce a new Pledge and Membership Drive Challenge for the remainder of our Drive! The top class for Membership Drive and Pledge Drive will win a guest spot in the Weekly Report Video with Principal Linville and Assistant Principal Warren! Class results will be tallied each week to see who's in the top position. Winning class will be announced upon the conclusion of our drive. Keep a lookout for an email coming soon with the current results and help your student's class get to the top!

We are currently at 40% to goal for Membership and 67% to goal for Pledge Drive.

Your support is crucial to our success. Please consider joining our PTA. Your voice makes a difference by being an advocate for all our students. Your membership and pledge donations help PTA fund amazing student programs like Reflections, Red Ribbon Week, Multicultural Festival, Year-End Celebration, and Teacher Appreciation Week!

Membership Drive - Your $15.00 membership supports valuable programs and events. Members enjoy many benefits including Membership Perks and voting rights at our meetings. Our Membership Goal is 275 members. Membership Drive is all year long. We encourage everyone to become a member (parents, grandparents, any family members, friends and neighbors just to name a few).

Pledge Drive - Pledge Drive is one of our largest fundraisers of the year ending this month on the 31st. Our Pledge Drive goal is $3,000 with a $50 suggested donation per student. Donations of any amount are always welcome. Our theme is Soaring To Success.

Company Match Program - Check with your company/employer to find out if they match donations.

THANK YOU to our community for supporting us in our 100 in 100 Membership Challenge last week! We exceeded our goal and our new PTA will receive a certificate, special recognition ribbon, and be recognized on the California State PTA's social media. Way to go in showing our Dragon Pride!

We are so excited to offer an opportunity to be a Room Parent for your student's class. Room Parents help facilitate communication between parents and the teacher. This role also supports the teacher with tasks that may include: prepping items at home for distribution, organizing virtual events for the class, and/or distributing materials on campus. Room Parents are also essential to facilitate communication between the teacher and the PTA. You are a key to our success!

“I Will Change The World By…”

That’s the theme for the 2021-22 Reflections Art Program which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. And California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

• Unleash creative talents and be inspired
• Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
• Experience the fun and joy of making art
• Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
• Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Have your child come up with an original idea for their entry around this year’s theme, “I Will Change The World By…”
2. Visit https://capta.org/resource/participant-forms/ for the Official Rules for each Category.
3. Submit an Entry Form by clicking here. (All entries must be submitted via the Google Form and must not exceed 1GB file size.)
   
4. Entries are due Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:59 pm.

Celebrate Red Ribbon Week with us the week of October 25 - 31, 2021! We have planned a week of fun activities:

Monday - Wear Red and Family Bonding Day

Family Bonding - Have a Family Bonding activity. (ie. share a family story, create a family tree, etc.)

Tuesday - Crazy Hair and Thank-You Day

Community Connection - Help our students feel connected to their community by delivering a thank you card/letter to a Teacher, Principal, Assistant Principal, Police Department, Fire Department, etc.

Wednesday - Hero Day

Personal Development and Resiliency - Students can dress up in their favorite hero costume and the theme for the day is: Be Your Own Hero!

Thursday - Crazy Socks and Compliment Day

Healthy Relationships - A compliment has a powerful effect. Share a compliment with someone and brighten their day. (ie. Teacher, Classmates, Family Members, etc.)

Friday - Be Yourself Day

Wear your favorite costume or pajamas and be you!

Help our school earn dollars! The Market Place is a great place to shop for your everyday needs or for that little some special. Shop and log your receipts to earn money for IUSD Virtual Academy PTA! Earn & Learn runs from September 1 through April 30. Plus, the school with the most dollars logged each month will earn a $250 bonus. Limit one bonus prize her school.
