Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

7CO took part in a lesson on the use of Fluoride in water and created these posters whether they are for or against it. The first poster is by Trafford and Blanka S, the second poster is by Nicole K and the third third poster is by Nicole I and Kevin J.

Maths:
Mrs Ferns has nominated the following for their excellent effort and attitude:
Alfie Year 8, Ben, Jasmine and Olivia Year 7 and Neva Year 9.
Mr Horne has nominated Aleksandra and Mia (7TA) for showing real commitment to revision for their upcoming assessments.
Mr Lee has nominated his Year 10 group for their exemplary behaviour in their Maths assessment. Also nominated are Ollie, Shae, Matthew and Lexi (8ST) for their hard work and commitment to revision during the week.
Music:
Year 7 – Miss Jenkins would like to celebrate William C (7ST), Abigail U (7CA) and Anthony M (7CU) for their brilliant work in Music Tech club on Friday. In particular, Anthony had been watching YouTube Videos on creating a sub bass and came prepared with a page of notes on how to do this in Logic. Great commitment, well done!
Miller T from 7TU was a whizz at recording in his triads this week moving quickly onto the extension task, and supported a couple of his peers with their pieces too. What a star!
Year 8 – 8SW did really well this week with their table drumming performances. Shanice, Thomas, Elina and Jake all performed in ensemble to the class, and Kayden G was lesson star for demonstrated excellent technique and asking perceptive questions.
Year 9 – Year 9 have shown such dedication to their ukulele learning this week, some of the girls have even trimmed their nails in advance of the lesson so that they can play more easily!
Miss Jenkins would also like to celebrate Seth Z and Jaasau (9CA) who have worked with her during tutor time this week to record a rap for the County School Challenge on the theme of Online Safety. They were really professional during recorded, and very well prepared for the recording sessions.
English:
Mrs Rice has nominated her Year10 students for their wonderful conduct and effort in their English assessment.
Miss Lodge has nominated 7SI and 7TE for fantastic focus in their assessment this week. They all worked exceptionally hard and should be proud of their effort and achievements in English so far this year.
Humanities:
Mrs Vaghadia has made the following nominations this week:
Year 9 RSCS students Sarah, Chanel, Myrtle, Eva and Jonathan for their excellent contribution to the lesson.
7A2 English students Sean, Kevin, Alessandro, Finn, Finley, Declan, Lara, Ole, Florence and Mia for their great contribution to the classroom discussion and offering fantastic responses.
Year 10 Sociology students David, Israel, Darcey, Kelly, Naomi for their consistent excellent contribution to the classroom discussion and showing their commitment to the subject well done.
Miss Bird has nominated Theo in 9ST who wrote an excellent answer in response to a GCSE style question, really impressive stuff. Kurtis (8CA) who is always very helpful in history, offering to hand out books and always reading. Well done Kurtis for being a great asset to the tutor group.
Halle (9TE) has worked excellently in History this week – Well done Halle, keep up the motivation.Alicia (8SW) is always switched on in history and has shown excellent dedication to her studies this term, well done.
Miss Gilbert has nominated the following:
7CU for their hard work and dedication in Geography, more specifically the topic of rivers and glaciers.
8TE completed an amazing lesson on maps skills this week with Alfie, Tyler and Joprince especially going above and beyond what was expected of them.
9ST has shown great dedication to the topic of Earths Resources, and this week especially Harley, Jolanta and Sarah have shown great dedication.
10B – Well done to 10 B for completing your first mock exam and revising for their second mock exam next week. Especially Jenson, Samuel C, Emily and Abdou for actively taking part in the revision lesson .
DT/Food Technology:
Mrs Firmin has seen some excellent presentations about World Cuisine from Year 9 students – especially those in 9TE and 9CO. They all did very well, in particular Emily, Emma, Rhia, Milena, and Nikodem. 7CO made an especially good effort with their facial expression drawing this week, all produced some excellent quality work. 9SW also did some very good work in art, especially Kent, Sanita, Ana, Melissa, Corina, Jacson, Jamila and Yunus.
Mrs Firmin is also very impressed with some of the Year 10 Food students this week. Some excellent contributions to class discussion, in particular Leila, Ryan and AJ, Gus and Denisa. There was also some very good class work and creativity in revision – Ruby, Daniel, Lexi and Leila did some super work. Also, Nela deserves a mention for helping another student.
Art:
Mrs Morgan has nominated the following students for excellent work in Art:
Year 7 - Oscar, Madison, Wiktoria, Hollie, Lauren, Roisin and Tomi.
Year 8 - Roman, Kacper, Lily and Gretil.
Year 9 - Kayden, Faith, Harley H, Harley R, Jana, Ella and Jaasau.
Science:
Mrs Brightwell has nominated Liam B and Sam C and Nive P for their work ethic in lessons. Also nominated are the Year 10's their hard work in the Biology assessment this week.
Mr Godfrey has nominated Jack in Year 12 for his great preparation for the assessments and the Year 10 students who attended the additional Physics revision sessions.
PE:
PE Students of the Week are:
Efraim 7TA, Kacper 8ST, Theo 9ST, Ben 10TA, Year 10 Sport Science is Jenna 10CO and Year 12 Sport and Physical Activity is Morgan.
Mr Rogers has nominated Year 9 students CJ, Dylan and Tanya for their excellent effort in the 800m in PE. Also nominated are Kirat, Efraim and Ryan in 7TA for their excellent effort in the Javelin and Year 10 students Lexi, Jenna and Alfie H for their hard work in Sport Science.
Assembly Music:
