The Board of Education elected officers last night. Stacy Jolley was elected President. Mike Kennedy was elected Vice President. Linda Poole was elected Secretary, and Amanda McGill Johnson was elected Treasurer. The Board members will serve in their positions throughout 2024.

Each year graduates are asked about their plans after high school. Last night the Board received the 2023 Exiting Senior Survey. Seventy-four percent of the graduates said they plan to continue their education. Of this group enrolling in higher education, nearly seventy-two percent indicated they planned to stay in Nebraska.

Millard students are hard working, both in the classroom and in life. Eighty-four percent of the Class of 2023 said they held a job while attending high school.

• Shelbi B. Ankersen – Elementary Teacher at Upchurch Elementary School
• Katie M. Gartner – Elementary Teacher at Montclair Elementary School
• Ellen M. Carpenter – Speech Language Pathologist at Neihardt Elementary School
• Shelby A. Tomasek – Elementary Teacher at Cody Elementary School

We welcome the following teachers to Millard in the coming school year:

• Gracie M. Schweers – Math Teacher at Millard West High School
• Sarah J. Zimmerman – School Counselor at Millard North High School
• Morgan K. McDonnell – Social Studies Teacher for Millard Public Schools
• Lydia M. Mike – Speech Language Pathologist for Millard Public School

The following people have been announced as principals and administrators for the coming school year:

• Carrie Novotny-Buss – Director of Special Education for Millard Public Schools
• Dayna Burke – Principal at Aldrich Elementary School
• Anne S. Cooke – Principal at Hitchcock Elementary
• Nathan G. Wragge – Assistant Principal at Millard North High School

The following staff will retire or resign at the end of the school year:

• Janine S. Ellis – Business Teacher at Millard West High School
• Jeana M. Gilin – Second Grade Teacher at Sandoz Elementary School
• Terry P. Houlton – Director of Special Education for Millard Public Schools
• Debra L. Marshall – Fourth Grade Teacher at Cottonwood Elementary School
• Julia R. Sparks – Fourth Grade Teacher at Holling Heights Elementary School
