NEW ROML MAJOR OPTIONS!

Although ROML majors have been able to choose Portuguese as a major or minor language in the past, they have never been able to concentrate their language skills in Portuguese... until now!

Check out our new Area of Emphasis in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies! This is perfect for Portuguese minors who want to delve deeper!

Option VII: Area of Emphasis in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies

(PORT 2001 and PORT 2002) or (2 credit hours of PORT 2030 and PORT 2120)
PORT 3010

Choose fifteen hours from the following:
PORT 4010/6010 (repeatable for up to 9 credit hours)
PORT(LACS) 4040/6040 (repeatable for up to 6 credit hours)
PORT 4045/6045
PORT 4050/6050 (repeatable for up to 9 credit hours)
PORT 4060/6060 (repeatable for up to 9 credit hours)
PORT 4070/6070 (repeatable for up to 9 credit hours)
PORT 4080/6080 (repeatable for up to 9 credit hours)
PORT 4150
PORT 4550/6550

How to add our new majors:

Spanish: Just go into Athena and follow the steps.

*If you are already a SPAN minor, you will need to drop your current SPAN minor before you can add the new SPAN major curriculum.

There are two options for the Spanish major. If you are interested in the Area of Emphasis in Spanish Interdisciplinary Studies please be sure to add the Area of Emphasis/ concentration when you add the major.

French: Go into Athena and add the French major. However, since option II French Studies is an Area of Emphasis you need to add the particular Area of Emphasis to get this particular set of requirements.

*If you are already a FREN minor, you will need to drop your current FREN minor before you can add the new FREN major curriculum.

ROML: Option VI Area of Emphasis Italian Studies: Go into Athena and add the ROML major. However, since option VI AOE Italian Studies is an Area of Emphasis you need to add the particular Area of Emphasis to get this particular set of requirements.

*If you are already a ROML major, you will need to drop your current ROML major before you can add the new curriculum.

ROML: Option VII Area of Emphasis Portuguese and Brazilian Studies: Go into Athena and add the ROML major. However, since option VII Portuguese and Brazilian Studies is an Area of Emphasis you need to add the particular Area of Emphasis to get this particular set of requirements.

*If you are already a ROML major, you will need to drop your current ROML major before you can add the new curriculum.
