Be Safe. Be Respectful.
Be Responsible. Be Ready to Learn
The Mission of Portsmouth Middle School is to create a strong and safe learning environment: promote social, emotional and physical well-being and to provide opportunities for each student, to the best of their ability, to meet high academic standards, develop responsibility, and achieve the positive social values and behaviors to become productive citizens.
Portsmouth Patriot Pride Door Decorating Contest!
Collaboration! Creativity! Purposeful conversation about our core values! The engineering-design process! Positivity! Focus! Leadership! Creating a positive school-climate!
Our Door Decorating Contest was a huge success! Students and staff worked together to create a shared vision to represent our core values while talking about what makes us Patriots. More photos, including our winning doors will continue to be shared!
Congratulations to our Robotics Team!
Congratulations to our PMS robotics teams on a great showing at the FLL Qualifiers. Techno Turtles placed in 7th in the robot games. Robotics Rulers placed in 2nd in the robot games and advanced to States. Octobots placed in 3rd in the robot games, earned the Core Values award for their exemplary team work, and are also advancing to States. A huge thank you to Ms. Medeiros, our amazing Robotics Coach, and all staff who were able to support the event at PMS!
A Focus on the Positive
We will continue to focus on building a positive social culture for our students during 2024. Beginning in January, we will begin a system of reinforcing expected and positive behaviors, aligning student expectations to our school core values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Ready to Learn.
Expected behaviors will be taught and students will be recognized when those behaviors are demonstrated.
On Thursday, we will review hallway expectations. Ask your student to share with you PMS' expected hallway behavior.
Patriot Pillars will be shared with students and will be collected by grade level to track our progress. Ask your student if they have earned any!
