Dyslexia Success Stories
Jamie Oliver
Jamie Oliver is a celebrity chef, with dozens of restaurants across the world. He’s sold millions of cookbooks, and he’s the face of numerous campaigns for healthy eating and better education.
Jamie found secondary school a “rough time”. He was caught between a rock and a hard place: identified as “special needs”, but not given real support, because his dyslexia “wasn’t the most severe case."
He has “always struggled with writing” and his reading ability comes and goes: “Sometimes I have really good days at reading, sometimes I read like a five year old,” he says.
However, after leaving school, Jamie was able to concentrate on what he was good at: cooking. A chance appearance in a restaurant documentary put him on the nation’s TV screens, and the rest is history.

Teaching Resources
Welcome to the World of Blooket: a new take on trivia and review games!
A teacher/host will pick a question set and a unique game mode. Then, a code will generate that players can use to join the game on their own devices. After the game starts, players will answer questions to help them win. That’s where the fun starts, because Blooket offers a variety of games to keep students engaged and excited! Teachers can choose a set from their incredible collection, or they can create their own game sets based on any concept or skills that have been previously taught.
