In compliance with the requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act, the Griffin-Spalding County School System would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student’s teacher(s) and/or paraprofessional(s).
The following information may be requested:
- Whether your child's teacher has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction
- Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing criteria have been waived
- Whether the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
- Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

School-Parent-Student Compact
A School-Parent Compact is a jointly developed agreement with parents. The compact outlines how the entire school staff, parents, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and how they will work together as partners to make sure all students reach grade-level standards.
We have a compact especially for students in Grades K-2 and another compact for students in Grades 3-5. These compacts may be accessed at any time by visiting the Parent Resources page of our school's website.
School Parent and Family Engagement Policy

School Musical Auditions!
Every year we put on a musical in the spring. Students get a chance to sing, dance, and act on stage in our big production! If you would like your student to audition for our school musical you can fill out this audition form:
Audition Form 2023-2024
This does not guarantee that they will be in the show, this just signs them up to try out for the show. For their audition they will need to sing a song.
Here is the music for the show incase they want to pick a song from the show to sing in their audition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApHfJpvuOV4&list=PLkFwnnPcLDua6yAU9mPb2BkC-XefLfQQC
Auditions will start on Sept. 25th and will be finished by October 6th. The auditions will be held during class. After auditions are over I will post the cast list and contact the parent/guardian of the students who got a spot in the show. If you have any questions please email me at whitley.fowler@gscs.org
