Back-to-School Fair
Lewisville ISD’s Back-to-School Fair is an annual event that provides more than 6,000 students in need with free backpacks, supplies and resources to start the school year. This year, the fair is set for Saturday, Aug. 5 at Lewisville High School (1098 W. Main Street, Lewisville). For every $25 raised, a student in need will get a backpack filled with supplies to start the new school year.

One Vision Task Force Progress Update
This spring, Lewisville ISD sought individuals interested in participating in the One Vision Task Force, a group of stakeholders who represent a diverse group of LISD constituents charged with developing a plan and potential bond package that can be recommended to the LISD Board of Trustees for consideration.
In the first three meetings, the One Vision Task Force has learned about school finance, technology usage, construction costs, safety and security measures and more. Visit LISD.net/OneVision to hear from the task force members, read meeting recaps and more.

M9 Teacher Named LISD Secondary Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to M9 teacher Katie Bragg for being named the LISD Secondary Teacher of the Year at this year's Awards Banquet. Watch the video below to learn more about Mrs. Bragg and see her winning moment.
Getting the Gears Turning at Downing
Downing Middle School is spinning the idea of pull-toys on its head and proving that they aren’t just for kids. As part of a first-year project, spearheaded by science teacher and Gateway to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) instructor Devon Phelps, students were tasked with designing and building a unique pull-toy that incorporated at least one of the many types of mechanisms that they learned about throughout the year. Lamar AVID Students Recognized at Texas State Capitol
The 8th grade AVID students and Coach Maria Samantha Montano from Lamar Middle School recently traveled to Austin and met with State Representatives Kronda Thimesch and Ben Bumgarner at the Texas State Capitol. READ MORE
Flower Mound ES and Marcus HS Teachers Given Cain Sczepanski Award of Excellence
The Lewisville ISD Education Foundation (LEF) presented four LISD educators with the 2023 Cain Sczepanski Award of Excellence. The Cain Sczepanski Foundation in Special Education was created by Bill, Carolyn and Cara Sczepanski in memorial to their son and brother, Cain. Cain lived for 24 years with Down syndrome and heart defects and spent 18 years under the guidance of dedicated LISD instructors and paraprofessionals. Congratulations to Juliana Wooten from Marcus High School and Stephanie Bess from Flower Mound Elementary. READ MORE
Bridlewood Students Compete in First District-Wide Robotics Competition
Bridlewood ES 4th and 5th graders competed against students from the other STEM Academies in the district,in a competition to design their own robot with the LEGO Spike Prime set. READ MORE
Graduation Walk at Heritage Elementary

Distinguished Writers Awarded at McAuliffe ES
McAuliffe Highlanders were among many LISD elementary school students honored at the Distinguished Young Writers ceremony this spring. SEE PHOTOS
Prairie Trail Student Competes in LISD Livestock Show
Fourth grader Skyler Rivera and her Poland China Pig Pearl took third place in the breeding swine division of the show. “I probably want to try [raising] one more pig and then try raising other animals if I want to," she said. READ MORE
Timber Creek Hosts Pre-K Fashion Show
Pre-K students at Timber Creek Elementary were dressed for success on Wednesday, March 22 at the second annual ABC Fashion Show. Students spent the last month participating and learning in ABC Bootcamp. During ABC Bootcamp, the Pre-K classes spend 26 days learning each letter of the alphabet. As a celebration to show families all the students have learned, the students are provided with a paper bag vest, donated by WinCo, and a letter of the alphabet. READ MORE
