What is happening for children, youth, and families at OUUC
Honoring Our Kids on June 7th
We will be honoring the end of the school year for all of our kids, and having a Bridging ritual for our graduating seniors, during the worship service on June 7th.
In creating this worship service, I would love to feature your kids in a slide show honoring their school year. If you would, please send me:
1) a photo of your child
2) a quote from them in answer to these questions:
- What was the highlight or best thing about your school year this year?
- What do you miss because of stay-at-home cancelation of in-person school?
- What was still good about online learning?
- What do you hope for the future?
I will be in touch with families who I know have larger milestones (end of elementary or middle school) but please get in touch with me if your kiddos have more to say or would like a chance to say more either with a live speech on Zoom or by recording a video we could show.

Chalice Camp Goes Virtual!
Chalice Camp will be virtual this year, as we continue to be careful not to spread the pandemic. Each day of camp will have a few Zoom calls, some offline craft projects, and some on-demand videos and stories to watch as you like. Supplies for craft projects will be put together in kits to pick up on the Sunday before camp, along with a tie-dye project to be done at the time you pick up supplies.
You do not have to be a member of this congregation – camp is open to all, but we ask you to register and commit to as much attendance during the week as possible.
Free! This camp is our gift to the community and we want it to be truly accessible to all. If you are able, however, we will gladly accept donations of up to $100 per child, to enable us to continue offering this camp every year.
