A Note from Mrs. Mancuso, Librarian

I am excited to share that the author, Nancy Churnin, is coming to TCE to visit with our learners on April 26th. She is an award-winning children's book author who writes about people who have made the world a better place.

She will sign copies of her books for learners. This is optional, but if you are interested in purchasing one of her books through Amazon or a bookseller, please send it to school with a sticky note including your child's name and homeroom class by Tuesday, April 25th. I will collect books from homeroom teachers.

Updated Library Volunteer Sign-Up

Please remember that a CISD background check is required to volunteer on campus.

We'd like to invite our Town Center families to join us for a Family Math Night on Thursday, April 27th, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Mathnasium of Coppell is providing math games, activities, and prizes for an evening of simple, family fun. The stations are accessible to all grade levels, and our goal for the night is to provide an opportunity for families to spend time together with math fun mixed in. We hope to see you there!

Join Us! CISD Run to Fund

Mark your calendars and lace up your running shoes. Registration is now open for Coppell ISD Education Foundation’s annual Run to Fund at Andy Brown East Park on Saturday, May 13. This year’s event will include a 1-Mile Fun Run perfect for adults and children of all ages followed by a 5K, timed and untimed. We can’t wait to see you and our community at this fun event that benefits the teachers and students of Coppell ISD. Register at coppellisdef.org and be on the lookout for more information soon.

Reminder: Friday Lunch Visitors

Here are some answers to questions you might have:

What is the process for visiting my child at lunch?

1. Sign-in at the office
Lunch visitors will be required to sign in at the front office and receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. We will need to see a photo ID (either your license or passport).

2. Eat lunch with your child
You will be able to eat lunch with your child in the cafeteria. There will be designated tables for lunch visitors. You may only eat with your child. No other learners may be invited to eat with you. You may purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring a lunch with you.

3. Sign out in the office
Parents will be dismissed from the cafeteria. You will need to go back through the front office to sign out at the end of lunchtime. Parents will not be able to join their child(ren) back in the class or at recess.

Who can visit my child for lunch?

District guidelines limit lunchroom visitors at the elementary level to parents, immediate family members with written permission from a parent, and campus mentors. Immediate family members are defined as the student’s parents/step-parents, siblings, grandparents, or any person residing in the home. A parent can list the person(s) who have permission to have lunch for the entire school year.

If anyone other than the parent(s) listed as guardians in our district eschool system is eating with the child, we will need written documentation of your approval. I have attached a copy of the form below, and we will have copies in the office, as well.

If you anticipate volunteering on campus at all this year, please fill out. A new one must be completed each school year.
