April News & Info
Check out all the events happening in April and beyond!!
A Note from Mrs. Holtz
As I write this letter, I am looking forward to having our parents in the building and able to join us in-person for parent/teacher conferences, should you so choose! We have missed having that personal touch and connection with our families! Teachers have much to share with you about your child's progress!
Because it is 4th quarter, please check and re-check our school calendar frequently. We have some special events and end of year traditions we don't want anyone to miss out on! As always, if you have questions, please just give us a call!
Happy Spring!
Mrs. Holtz
Elementary Spring Concert Reminder
Our Spring Concert is right around the corner! April 8th will feature all of our students in a 2 EVENT PROGRAM. This year we are trying something new to help with scheduling and to stay COVID friendly. Students in K-2 will perform from 5:15 - 5:45 pm followed by a 30 minute intermission to allow families to come and go. Students in grades 3-5 and 5th grade band will perform from 6:15 - 6:45 pm. Both performances will take place at the high school in Correctionville.
We know this year has been nothing slight of challenging so we are eager to showcase all the amazing, hard work that has been happening in music IN PERSON with you!
Additionally, masks will be required to be worn for those in attendance and we ask that you provide social distancing between families when choosing your seating. Grandparents are invited to attend along with immediate families.
We hope to see you there! If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Holtz or Mrs. Olson.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Olson
Kindergarten Round Up
Friday, April 9th is a BIG DAY for your child! This is the day that he/she is invited to visit the kindergarten rooms and take part in the activities for the morning. This year, in order to provide for social distancing and safety for all, we will be scheduling visits in three shifts. We ask that you please sign up for your selected time slot when you come for conferences on Mar. 29th and 30th.
Time slots will be offered from:
- 8:45 am - 10:00 am
- 10:15 am - 11:30 am
- 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm.
In order to maintain social distance we will need to limit each time frame to a maximum of 10 families.
We will utilize the kindergarten classrooms to provide for a space for the morning’s activities. Parents will be in one classroom while our incoming kindergarten students will be in the other classroom. While the students are engaged with the teachers in one classroom, parents will meet with the teachers, AEA staff, school nurse, and the principal in the other classroom. A review of the kindergarten program will be presented along with what is expected of beginning students and services that are available. There will be an opportunity to learn about how to enhance your health and academic achievement as well as time to ask questions about our kindergarten program.
On Round-Up Day, please bring the following with you:
Your child’s immunization card (we are required by law to keep the official card on file)
A copy of your child’s birth certificate
You will receive a physical examination form, a vision screening certificate, and a dental screening certificate on Round-Up Day. You will need to have both of these forms completed before school starts in the fall. If you had a preschool physical in the last year, we will accept this information.
We look forward to seeing you and your child on Friday, April 9, 2021 during your selected time frame. If you are unable to attend conferences to get signed up, please call the office and we will get you scheduled.
