We have the ability to remote students into the in-person environment, but this is ONLY for the following reasons and has to be approved by our nursing team first:

• Illness of the student or household member
• Covid-19 close contact or quarantine
• Awaiting Covid-19 Test results
  
  

We understand this might seem like an easy solution at times, but this actually creates a substantial interruption to our teaching & learning. This option is available as a last resort to keep our students safe and learning. We understand that emergencies arise, and for those situations you can call us to find the best solution.

If you would like to switch to a full remote learning environment, please call the office and we will gladly make that change to your child's schedule.

Please remember to call your child in if they are absent, even if they are elearning at home. We need to track all sick calls for the state and our district. You can leave a message on the attendance line at (630) 279-6160 ext. 5000 or email Kbeckwith@saltcreek48.org.

The last day for MAP Testing makeups is Monday, February 8th.

So far, all students did a wonderful job and took their time!!

All Illinois children in 6th grade, or any new student to the district (grades 5-8), are required by the state to provide school with proof of a dental exam by May 15, 2021. Any dental exam completed between November 2019 and May 15, 2021 will fulfill the state's requirement. If a dental exam form is not received by May 15, 2021, the school may hold the child's report card until proof of a dental examination form is received or until the school receives proof (ex: appointment card) that a dental examination will take place within 60 days after May 15, 2021.

Is your child in need of a winter coat, hat, or gloves? Need a mask or a thermometer? Reach out to your schools Social Worker via email and they can get you what you need.

We have some great new books! Even next week as we start Hybrid again, the LMC will still be open for ALL students (elearners too!). Your books will just be delivered to your class, just like before with a book drop bin in the hall. For all students, you will still do everything with your Alexandria account (holds and renewals) and I will take care of the rest. If you need a refresher, check out resources on your LMC classroom!

Valentine Sale

Do you often shop online? Would you like to help the district while making your regular purchases? FTC has the answer for you! We have partnered with School Store for an ongoing fundraiser. Instead of going directly to the vendor's website, visit to www.schoolstore.com, search for your school (Salt Creek Primary School, Stella May Swartz Elementary School, John E Albright Middle School) and begin shopping at merchants such as Walmart, Kohl's, Old Navy and many more! A welcome letter will go home with your student with more information and how to earn a special prize by sharing the information with family and friends.

5th Joel B.- The fifth grade team is SO proud of the positive changes that Joel has recently made. He comes to class with a good attitude and is showing his teachers that he wants to learn. Hard work DOES pay off. We encourage Joel to keep up the great work!

We are a tutoring group made up of high school students who are eager to work with you in any areas of learning you need help on. Whether it be Math or English or any other subject we are here to help. Each session will be 30 minutes long on Google Meets. We are a part of the Summer Food Service Program, so any student can have a free combo meal. For Hybrid Students they will be given out daily, for our eLearning students 5 days worth of meals are available for pick up every Tuesday from 1:00pm-1:30pm and 2:35-3:00pm. Located at Door #2 (District Office Doors).
