EJMS Families,

I hope everyone had a good week back. This was a special week to see our Jaguar families partner with us through academics and sports. We had a great time celebrating many of our students through the iReady Goal Getter Breakfasts with families this past week. Thank you to those of you who were able to attend, especially with busy schedules.

Huge congratulations to our Boys Basketball teams on very successful seasons!

8th grade - 2024 Salt River Conference tournament Champions (second year in a row)Huge thank you to all of the students, staff, and families for showing up and supporting our boys basketball teams in the Salt River Conference tournament. We had a huge cheering section and showed why EAST has the best fan base!

PTO Meeting - Spring Planning Meeting 1/30/24
Please join us for the next PTO meeting on Tuesday, January 30th at 4:15 PM in the library. This will be the spring planning meeting so we hope parents can join!

Speak Up Survey
The annual Speak Up Survey is open for teachers, students, and parents. What is a Speak up survey you ask? The purpose of the survey is to inform our technology plan, and Ed Tech initiatives across the district. We will use the data to help district leaders and teachers better understand the student perspective and situation with technology. This will give us a scope of where a teacher may have misconceptions or struggles in technology in hopes to remove barriers for students and teachers inside the classroom. The goal is to leverage technology as a tool as it actually relates to students. Carline Afternoon Pick Up:
- We are having an increased number of students trying to walk to cars that are parked in the parking lot in the afternoons. I wanted to send a reminder about our afternoon carline procedures from the beginning of the year. In order to maintain your child’s safety we ask that you help follow these guidelines.
- Note: we will not allow any student to cross the crosswalk to go into the parking lot until all cars have moved through the car line. We encourage all parents to get in line for pickup and use the system we have in place. If you still choose to pick your child up from the parking lot please know that they will not be released until all traffic is clear from the car line pickup area.
Important Upcoming Dates:
- Tuesday, January 30th - Operation Preparation for 8th grade
- Tuesday, January 30th - PTO Meeting at 4:15 in library

Nominate a Teacher of the Year (has been extended until Feb. 2 )

6th grade parents:

I have been going through all of the 6th graders immunization and physicals over the past couple of days again. There are still several students missing their updated 6th grade immunizations and physicals. We are currently sitting at 41 kiddos missing their updated immunizations and 89 students missing their 6th grade physicals. Please get these in asap.

If you are not sure if your student is up to date you can contact your child doctor to find out. You can also send me an email to see if I have your childs up to date records. It is very important that these be done asap and turned in. This is a state law that these be done.

7th and 8th grade parents: I am going to be going through these students' immunizations and physicals as well to see what all is missing. Please make sure your child is up to date in their immunizations and has an up to date physical as well.
