Principal Message
Dear Horning families,
It is with mixed emotions that I would like to share with you that I will not be returning to Horning Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year, as I have taken an opportunity outside of the district.
It has been my honor to serve the Horning community for the past 6 years. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside you and your student(s) during this time.
I will be working closely with the district in creating a transition plan to ensure a smooth transition in leadership at Horning. Thanks again for your support.
Warmest regards,
Robert Blessington
Principal

Spring Forward Testing
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Wisconsin students in grades 3 thru 8, and 10, will be participating in the Forward Exam during the March 21 – April 29 testing window. State assessments, including the Forward Exam, are required by both State (Wis. Stat. § 118.30) and Federal ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) Law. Participation in State assessments can help determine the impact the pandemic has had on academic achievement and equity.
Equitable testing is important because clearly knowing the performance of all students is the first step in closing achievement gaps. We must know exactly which gaps exist, the size of the gaps and the persistence of the gaps.
Our Horning test-window is March 30th thru April 20th this year. The testing schedule below for your reference.

Register for Waukesha South Youth Football Today!
Waukesha South Youth Football is dedicated to giving you and your child the best football experience possible. We are members of the All-American Youth Football League, and provide tackle football for grades 5 through 8.
Our coaches are trained in how to keep kids safe. We follow all acclimatization protocols, background check all staff, and work directly with the high school coaches to help them be the best coaches they can be. We provide on site medical equipment, and trained EMT staff at each home game. We believe in improving the lives of your child through learning how to play football. They will learn team work, hard work, discipline, selflessness, and camaraderie, while learning to play football, to win.

Join Horning Site Council!
The 2nd Thursday of each month starting in September is reserved for our Horning Site Council meetings. The monthly meeting will be offered virtually via WebEx. Please look for an email invite that will be sent monthly to all families that will allow you to RSVP.
Horning Site Council's mission is to build community among families, learners, teachers and staff. We WANT people like you to get involved to help improve communication, support school needs, and plan activities to bring the Horning community together.
Site Council was formed in the 2016-17 school year, so we’re fairly new and trying to build our family involvement here at Horning.
Please join us at any meeting, or contact us any time for more information!
We look forward to seeing you!
