Principal's Update
Greetings Families,
The weather turned out to be the main character of the week, as it was unusually hot. While our Phillips Building is mostly air-conditioned, Lowell West has limited air conditioning capabilities. The building's electrical capacity is limited and won't allow us to run air conditioning units in every classroom. To give students and teachers a little relief, we purchased fans for each classroom and encouraged students to stay hydrated. We also provided popsicles in the afternoon to offer a little cool treat. Thankfully, the cafeteria remained a cooler space for students to eat lunch. I commend our students and teachers for managing through the heat. We’ve been fortunate, this has been our first week dealing with high temperatures. Next week the forecast predicts much cooler weather. Luckily our renovated Lowell will have air conditioning. I hope this means our hot days are behind us.
We are pleased to announce that our after-school program successfully relocated and adjusted to their new space.
I understand that managing without a bus has been challenging for many parents, especially those from Lowell West. To address this, we have added a bus that will start running routes on Monday. Parents who signed up for the waitlist were informed about the resumption of bussing. If your child's name was not on the waitlist, they will not be able to ride the bus. However, if you were unaware of the waitlist and live 1.5 miles away from school or greater, you can add your child's name to our waitlist.
Please note that a bus pass is required for your child to ride the bus. We have noticed that some students have managed to ride the bus in the morning without a pass, but they were unable to do so in the afternoon. The bus driver and school staff will be checking passes. Please visit our transportation page if you have any questions.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation throughout this week.
With gratitude!
