Congratulations to our Spelling Bee participants and winners!

The following students will represent Henry Ford Elementary and compete in the Elementary District Wide Spelling Bee:

3rd Grade Winner: Majed Hammoud

4th Grade Winner: Ahmed Alsubari

5th Grade Winner: Yusuf Altaeb

The district spelling bee will be held on March 2, 2023 starting at 5:00pm in the Fordson High School auditorium. Come out to show your support!

We are hard at work putting together the Henry Ford 2022-2023 Yearbook! Now it is easier than ever to share school photos you may have. Parents and teachers will be able to contribute school appropriate photos to potentially be used in our yearbook. You can upload your photos for consideration using the following link:

Our staff is very excited to bring back our annual STEAM Night! We have many activities planned and look forward to you and your families joining us on Thursday, February 23rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

More details will follow as we get closer to the event.

All students must be accompanied by a parent.

With the warmer temperatures this week, students have been having outdoor recess; this includes recess at lunch. The fresh air, movement, and social interactions are important! With the melting snow, we know that there might be areas where there is mud. We have advised all students to remain on the black top so they do not get mud on themselves; however we do understand that accidents may happen, especially with our younger students.

You are more than welcome to send an extra pair of pants in your child's backpack so that we can avoid making phone calls home. Please be sure to share this message with your child since we cannot call home for an extra change of clothes. Thank you for your understanding!

Our PTA will be selling carnation flowers for Valentine's Day. Students may purchase their flower for $1 during their lunchtime

Kindergarten is hosting a Fundraiser!!!

HAT DAY for a $1.00 donation!

On Friday, February 10th any student may wear a hat to school if they donate $1.00. All money will help support our Kindergarten & Young Fives group on their hopes for fun field trips!

Congratulations to Riyam Alhajjaj, 3rd grader in Linda Saab’s class. She was the winner of the Walk & Roll t-shirt design contest. Her design was selected from all of the district submissions. Her design will be printed on t-shirts that will be distributed this Spring to Walk & Roll participants.

If your child is not feeling well, they should stay home from school as to not risk others getting ill. Students need to be fever free (without medication) and/or no vomitting for 24 hours.

If your child is going to be absent, Henry Ford School has a 24 hour attendance telephone number that is available for you. Please call in your child’s absence by 9:10 a.m. Our attendance telephone number is (313) 827- 4701.

If you need to sign your children out early, we ask that you call the office (313) 827-4700. Requests must be made before 3:00pm. This is a busy time for the office and we need time to call the teacher, prepare the student’s things, and bring them down. We appreciate your support in this matter.
