Shout out for Matt Major and Ken Scott
Have you noticed how good our baseball and softball fields look?
We'd like to give a shout-out BSD Groundskeepers Matt Major (photo - left) and Ken Scott (photo - right) for their outstanding contributions on field prep at Knights Field, Knights fast pitch field and Ostrander Field (behind View Ridge Elementary Arts Academy). They maintain a high level of commitment and workmanship preparing these fields for BHS competition. Their detailed work is second to none! Thanks, Matt and Ken for your hard work and dedication!
We have broken ground on the sports complex at MVMS!

Working together to create "Our Beloved Community"
Bremerton School District's Restorative Program is endeavoring to create "Our Beloved Community" - a learning environment where all of our scholars feel cared for. A place absent of violence, bigotry, and hate.
We believe that humans are holistic beings, and we must increase our awareness of our whole selves, in order to grow. If we are going to create a healthier, happier school climate, if we are going to close the achievement gap, if we are going to create competitive workers and forward thinking citizens, we are going to have to all work together, and strive to create our own "beloved community."
With care and compassion driving us, partnered with the use of restorative practices, we will transform our schools.
We at the Bremerton School District believe that if school officials, students, parents, and community all work together in a collaborative and inclusive manner, that we can and will accomplish this.
You are invited to observe the Beloved Community Listening Circle
Monday, June 12, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
On Zoom (Click HERE to join)
You will be observing students, parents, teachers, administration, community members and organizations sharing their hopes and expectations for Bremerton Schools and our Beloved Community. We are using the restorative circle process where every voice within the circle will be heard. Community members online will have an opportunity to post questions in the Q & A during the webinar.
Over the next year, we will be holding monthly listening circles where all will have the opportunity to participate in-person and share their voice.
Please join us on this endeavor as we work together to transform our schools using restorative practices, inclusivity, love and shared humanity.

Your input is needed!
Are you a Kitsap County parent, teacher, school nurse, or school administrator? The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security would like to hear from you about child and adolescent health in the county. We are working to understand how the healthcare system serves kids and families, and how local policymakers could make the system better.
We invite you to take part in a focus group, or small group discussion, about child and adolescent health in Kitsap County. Your participation is voluntary. We will ask you to provide your perspectives and opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of the county’s public health and healthcare programs for children and adolescents. The focus group will take 1.5-2 hours and will be recorded, but your name will not be associated with your comments. The focus group will take place at 9 AM PT at the Oxford Suites Silverdale Washington Hotel on Friday, July 28, 2023. Participants will receive a $25.00 gift card as a thank you for their participation. This research project is funded by the Kitsap County Public Health District.
Please complete this brief questionnaire if you are interested in participating: https://forms.office.com/r/QN9ZehpNuR. Contact Hannah Ottman-Feeney at hottman1@jhu.edu if you have questions about the research study.
